Gentlemen/women,

I just, and I mean just got back from the river and had a pretty slow day of fishing...Today was more or less a lazy day of fishing because of my company being some great guys but not as enthused as I about fishing...We caught roughly a dozen rainbows on jigs before I switched to throwing a bit larger bait which resulted in only one fish, but man, was it a beauty. The picture quality is lacking but I should have a couple of other, better pictures possibly tomorrow. I know you guys like the eye candy. To give you something to jugde size by, I am 6'3" and 260lbs...just thought I would throw that out there for a comparison.

What a pretty fish. What did you catch that beast on?

The water was sure roaring today at Rim Shoals. I only fished an hour and a half from 6:00 until dark and did pretty well on a rainbow colored Lucky Craft jerkait. I did not catch anything of any real size with the biggest being about 4 pounds. This is the second evening I have fished this high water with overcast skies this week and caught all browns. I have been keeping the boat about 20 yards off the bank and sight casting any underwater structure I can find. I have had good luck with a long pause followed by a slight twitch. They generally hammer it when they commit. I had one today that was in the size range of yours slam it and miss, I twitched and she came back and nudged it with her nose right next to the boat. She realized something was not right and left in a hurry. Very neat to see. I proably had 10 fish swing and miss today, but it was fun. The high water has been perfect these last few for throwing the big stick baits. I will be at it early tomorrow around wildcat or white hole. I have a brown supreme with a 25 mariner that always has a black and white springer spaniel on the front deck. Feel free to say hello if you see me.

I was fishing a Rapala rainbow X-Rap...I should add that I was in the catch and release, but on this bait I took the front treble off and bent the barbs down on the rear hook..I was not aware of this until actually last year that you could use a single barbless treble hook at the Bull Shoals Dam C&R...This is my new favorite bait for medium to high water, for obvious reasons. The action on this bait, to me, is freakin awesome. With a jerk-jerk-jerk-pause is how I was fishing it...I had a few fish come and sniff it close to the boat, but you are right, when they commit...the commit HARD...when that brown hit, I was about to start the sequence again and I nearly I had the rod jerked outta my hand. Unfortunately, I won't be on the water tomorrow. I have a white supreme with a black stripe and a big rainbow trout next to the supreme logo on each side...Also, my truck has a big G2 Custom Rods sticker on the back glass...so likewise, if you see me out, feel free to say hello.

Awesome patfish...thanks, it looks great...doesn't really matter that it washed me out, nobody is looking at my purdy face anyway. The fish is what is important and it looks a lot better...I left the house and was a few miles down the road and thought, "Man, I forgot my camera. I wonder if I should go back and get it...NAHHHHH." And look what happens...Always happens like that it seems. Anyway, thanks for the work on the photo and the comments from everybody. I was in somewhat of a slump on big trout...

We put in at Wildcat and ran up river to Stetsons, my son caught a huge brown to large for the little net my wife grabbed and as y'all know White Hole is swift with this water, before she could get the larger net he lost the fish an honest 30 inches maybe large I have a 30 inch brown on the shop wall and this fish was larger!

I ended the day with four browns three made the length two being skinny 26 inch fish. They looked like clones

We were throwing large white Rogues.

We dropped the wife off at Wildcat an she met us at Cotter.

Batteries in the digital camera went dead or I would post pictures

The upper end C&R zone you can use trebles, but not in The Rim Shoals C&R. Kinda confusing. I wish they would allow the trebles inthe Rim Shoals C&r since I only live one mile form the ramp. I would like to tknow the reasoning in no trebles in one but perfectly fine inthe other. Maybe someone has a thought on this.

I tried something in Rim Shoals two years ago. I put some loop velcrom on a Rapala, no hooks and trolled around had several fish take the lure but was unable to boat anyThey came off close to the boat. Also tried a frayed nylon rope trailer and did catch a nice male brown. The white nylon fray also caught several super small trout, the 6 to 9 inch fish.

I am always worried when we go thru the C&R area, I will normally throw a single hook Rooster tail or a Jumbo San jaun worm, with a barbless hook but as mentioned we are going thru the area and normally have a few fish we caught up river. Just get worried a overzealous warden will someday think we kept fish fromt he C&R area.

But really we have seldom caught a fish in the C&R that I would classify as a keeper.
