Members FliTrap4 Posted March 21, 2008 Members Posted March 21, 2008 Yep.... Water, Water everywhere! When I left Taney this morning they were still running the river to within 8' of the top of the access steps near outlet #2! Dano! You can stand on the 3rd step down, there at Outlet #1 and fish legal! TRL should be interesting with all the extra flooded timber areas! Dipping a line into the outlet waters was about it for the last 5 days! Unless I saw you standing in the parking lots, I figure I missed encounters with most everyone! Better luck next time! FliTrap
Danoinark Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Pat Sorry I missed you again. I forgot about you coming down and with the streams like they have been and all. Maybe when you venture down this way again. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Members FliTrap4 Posted March 22, 2008 Members Posted March 22, 2008 Pat Sorry I missed you again. Dano Thats o.k. , Dano! was in town with wife and daughter! They would have typically dropped me of to fish on their way to "shop"! As it turned out, we relaxed a lot.... in between the shopping! After 5 days of that, I'm glad to be home! Maybe next time I leave the shoppers at home! I'll let you know when I head back! FliTrap
Members midgemajik Posted March 22, 2008 Members Posted March 22, 2008 Here's 5 gates. Boat ramp. What came out of one rainbow's mouth. I got video but having trouble caturing it. We caught several trout on egg flies and scud. A couple of jigs but not many. Tried to stay where we knew was gravel and shallower water. Did well from Andy's house down too.
Don Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 They're going to open the other 5 gates this afternoon. When you talk about the other 5 gates, are you talking about flood gates at the newer flood control dam? If so, were they ever opened? Thanks, Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 31, 2008 Author Root Admin Posted March 31, 2008 5 flood gates are open on the main dam. None on the aux dam.
Don Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Phil, I guess I'm confused. Post 6 says 5 gates are open. Post 7 says the other 5 gates will open later. Where are the "other" 5 gates located? Were the other 5 gates ever opened? Thanks.....Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Jeremy Hunt Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Ten flood gates total, at the dam. They're in-between the ones already running. Accept the drift.....<>>><flysandguides.comVisit my blog
taxidermist Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 The Aux. dam has several but the old dam has ten total flood gates. I am anxious to see with the additional water over the weekend if they open the others, we spent the weekend in the head water area of Kings River and it rained like an SOB. Little Buffalo Was up not flooded this afternoon. Kenner Creek was way up and the rain was heavier to the west than we received.
