DOITLOOKIT Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Here's some pictures of the James and FinleyI took this morningF. Also included are pictures of television networks CNN and St.Louis station on the Finley. I have included the picture of Carson Nusery flooding and the car that was washed off a low water bridge. The man had a heart attach and died and his wife was rescued from the top of the car. Have alot more pictures but after awhile they look all alike. Any questions I will try and answer.
ollie Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I don't see pics. Maybe they didn't load? "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
zander Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I drove over the dam at Lake Springfield as a little detour on my way to work today. The water in the lake is up very high. By the warm water outlets the fishing pier is totally under water with just the tops of the handrails out of the water. Behind the dam the water looks like a class IV rapid. The water has submerged a third of the concrete outhouse so it must be around 15-20 foot up above normal. There will be "poop ship destroyers" heading downstream. (Ween reference)
Terry Beeson Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 The Finley was on the Today Show this morning - live picture from the bridge at the park at Ozark. The water was up to the beams and ready to go over the bridge... DOITLOOKIT Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 I don't see pics. Maybe they didn't load? I guess my picture files are too big. Wouldn't upload.

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 20, 2008 Root Admin Posted March 20, 2008 These pics are from DOLOOKIT, Jim Hagan. This is the fishing pier located by the power plant at Lake Springfield (under water) This is looking downstream from the dam at Lake Springfield (James River) This is the bridge on the Finley that CNN and stations from St.Louis were televising from. Located by the park in Ozark. This is the crossing that goes across the James at Rivercut Golf Course, which was totally flooded. Also this is the crossing where a car was swept off. This is on 160 just before you cross the James going to Nixa. That is what is left of Carson's Nursery on the right. This is looking down 65 toward the Finley bridge. All the fields on both sides were covered. This was the car that was swept of the low-water crossing. The man died of a heart attack and the woman was able to get on top of the car and was rescued.
