Members Jenny @ The Station Posted March 21, 2008 Members Posted March 21, 2008 Each day seems to get a little better here at The Tailrace. Lots of fish reported today. Crappie biting good on Slab Hunters and now on minnows. Walleye good bite early morning and real good evenings, a few reported through the day. Lots of reports of 4-10 lb. fish. They should be peaking here soon. Now the whites and an occasional hybrid being brought in. And just in today, good on the catfish, though nothing reported real big, they definitely turned on. Should be interesting to see how the weekend pans out with weather changes likely to come Sunday. Enjoy your weekend!
Dutch Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Thanks Jenny. That may be the only place to fish in a while.
Bittle Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Are they running the floodgates up there too. if so how many?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 23, 2008 Root Admin Posted March 23, 2008 Looks like they're running some water!! 4 times what they are out of Table Rock without flood gates.

Good time to play "hooky" from work! are they running like they was in July if they are I am playing hookey thursday and maybe friday too. depending on water temp may be the best walleye fishing of the year.
Bill B. Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Fished below the dam yesterday (3-25) morning. Lots of murky, 45-degree water coming over all four spillway gates. Fishing was tough. In four hours, I caught one decent white bass and lost a snagged spoonbill. In the four hours I was there, I counted three nice crappie, two small walleye and a couple of decent white bass caught by the 25 or so people who were lined up there. Plus, several buffalo. Watched half a dozen people fishing on the generator side during the early afternoon; after half an hour, no one had caught a fish.
