I have a little problem"foot in mouth" disease sometimes myself. No disrespect of course.

I just couldn't resist and it does earn more respect when a person admits that they may have been wrong rather than rubbing it in when they believe to be right.

As someone recently stated: "Life is too short not to have fun with it." ....Yep...

Thom,

none taken

There is a good reason why my nick name is Big M. My family have been calling me a Big Mouth since I was a kid. I have matured over time, but that Mouth seems to keep on blabbing. Haha

I even named my boat Big M.

Help me out, please, trout fishermen. The spring crappie, white bass, bass, and walleye fishing I look forward to all winter is ruined by high water. I'm thinking about going fishing on Taneycomo just to get out and catch something.

It's been years since I've even bought a trout stamp, but I'll do it. I don't want to break any laws, and I know they've changed. The limit's just 4 fish now, right?

I may avoid the upper part of the lake because I don't understand the "slot limit". No, I wouldn't use bait anyway so that's not an issue - but maybe someone here can explain the rules to me so I'll feel comfortable fishing. The length limit on brown trout is different too, right?

Also, I've only put a boat on Taneycomo from three ramps. Forsyth Park, just above the dam (probably underwater now?), Rockaway Beach, and the old city park in Branson (probably gone now because of Branson Landing?). I have no idea where to launch anywhere upstream from there.

Do you think I could still launch at Rockaway? If so, that might give me a chance to check Bull Creek for suckers and bass as well as doing some trout fishing. That depends on how bad Bull Creek looks right now.

Thanks fellers.

Howdy

Above fall creek is artificial lures only, no soft plastics, no live bait , nonfly salmon eggs, ect.

It is also illegal to possess trout in this area between the legnths of 12 and 20 inches.

That means that you cannot travel into that area with trout caught below fall creek in your live well.

If you want to keep fish, the best plan may be to fish up stream from fall creek first, releasing all that you catch, and then catch 4 to keep below fall creek. There is a big sign at fall creek about the rules on the right side as you go up, hard to miss it.

Brown trout have to be over 20 in on the entire lake and you can only keep one.

There is a great new boat ramp at cooper creek, which is off of fall creek road near where it hits 76 at the north east edge of branson.

There is also lots of good fishing for the other species that you mentioned in and around the creeks that feed into lower tany.

Good luck.

All the ramps are open. No worries.
