Seth Posted April 4, 2008 Author Posted April 4, 2008 Taberville just north on Highway H on the upper Osage arm of Truman. The hwy H bridge that crosses the Osage arm there is called the Taberville Bridge usually. Schell Osage Conservation Area is where Duckman does a lot of his snagging I think. He just snags from the bank.
Members spin fisherx Posted April 6, 2008 Members Posted April 6, 2008 we have been down to Warsaw twice this week. The corps has started running quite a bit of water this week so the run can't be too far off. The water temp is up to about 47 degrees at this time. i am not seeing a lot of fish at the ramp but we fish at nite mostly and don't find that it means much. Running at night can be a little exciting especially with all the foam on the surface so we haven't been down too far below 65 bridge but we are seeing quite a few more fish on the graph than we were 2 weeks ago. I would like to know if anyone does any good this weekend. So far we have been getting 1-2 fish each trip but ony fishing one rod in this current makes the catch rate fall off quite a bit.
Members Duckman Posted April 7, 2008 Members Posted April 7, 2008 Well fellers don't wast yer time at Tabersville anytime soon. Fished Friday & Saturday and never took a fish one between five of us. Water is way the hell and gone up! Gonna take some time before she drops. Also, went up stream round Virginia and the water is way low, so evidentally at Pappinsville, where the rivers all come together, is where the flooding is starting. Oh, well see ya'all down around 81MM, Old Oar House next weekend. Be in Lund Pro V SE (black, red & silver) with a 150 Rude on the back. Has anyone heard about all the Bills going throught the turbines @ Truman Dam??? Wow! Must be one helluva kill going on right now according to one of my sources who lives right there! Seth Posted April 8, 2008 Author Posted April 8, 2008 Bill kills suck! Good luck on LoZ. I'd like to try and make it up there on the 19th for a tourney if I can find somebody atleast one other person to go with me. I went down to Tablerock today and never hit a bill. We caught a bunch of common carp though. They were flopping all around us on the banks so we started snagging them. Atleast we caught something although it wasn't the spoonbill that I wanted. That's the first time I been skunked down there in a LOOONNG time. This high water sure is making it hard to find them spoonies.
gonefishin Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 I went to Twin Bridges saturday. Lots of 'bills being caught. Biggest I saw weighed 57 lbs. Of the 5 I caught my biggest weighted 35. I tossed the 35 lb female back and kept a smaller male fish. They have free cleaning stations going. One game warden told me the City of Miami is selling the eggs to russia and the carcus and leavings are being used to make oil for heating or bio-diesel, the remaining solids will become fertilizer or catfood. Sounded like a good plan to me. Then I got to thinking about all those prob lem causing Silver and Bighead carp and the oil shortage..... seems a match made in hevan to me. I would rather be fishin'.
