Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 25, 2006 Author Root Admin Posted March 25, 2006 You know the comparson between baiting deer and baiting fish is the best example I've seen- thanks Randall. my quote. Hey Randall... can't find your shift key?? I think gonfishin missed our point on the baiting deer thing. It's the idea of doing something (kicking bugs loose on the bottom or placing corn out on the ground, both for the purpose to attack game to catch/kill) to cause a intentional reaction. Extremism... that's alittle harsh... but I wasn't insulted. Yea- I thought this was dead too but we have a lot of new people on the forum since the horse laid down so it may get back up.
Randall Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 whats a shift key? i wasn't insulted by the extremism statement, but by the statement implying that my comparison between baiting and shuffling made me unreasonable. i like to think that i'm a reasonable, intelligent person capable of making sensible arguments. as for my last post, i'm really not mean-spirited, and i said some things that were inappropriate- sorry. i stand by everything after the first sentence still. i think this topic is pretty much dead, anything added any more will pretty much just be redundent. Cute animals taste better.
Members gcryar Posted March 26, 2006 Members Posted March 26, 2006 As i said we need to limit shuffling to only those who need to feed their family. I think a special sign or tag should be sold to someone to allow suffling. Great another tag for fishing. Wonder if we could limit the suffle to one foot only If suffling is as bad as I read here that it is, maybe we should limit, or stop wade fishing. Any movement to the bottom of the stream disturbs the bed, so maybe we should keep our feet out of the stream. While we are at it, the wash from the props of motors must also upset the stream bottom, so maybe power boats should be outlawed also. Heck, fighting fish might also upset the stream bottom, so maybe we should stop fishing. Are we not getting a little carried away here. All of us want it our way, and all others are doing it wrong. my opinions Glen
Members Robert Posted March 28, 2006 Members Posted March 28, 2006 Shuffling should be Illegal. As I understand it Arkansas does not allow it nor do they allow more than one fly on a line. Yet, a couple of weeks ago a SUV from Arkansas pulled in at the shoot two parking lot. Four guys jumped out and proceed to the water and shuffled to rebar. These guys had a plan and it worked. They caught some nice fish. They came to Missouri to do something they can not do in Arkansas. Isn't there a sportsmanship issue here as well?
