denjac Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Got out late this morning around 10:00. Looking for a SM bite but didnt find one. Went to the back of a creek in the Dam area and found some whites. Had to fish for them like LM, looking for the open spots in the brush and trees that I could take a shot to the bank. They were from 3 -5 ft off the bank. Ended up with 10. Better than a poke in the eye but am frustrated that I can get the smallie bite. The one in the picture looks like a dink, but from the front of my reel to the first guide is 17 inches. I measured it after I got home as the picture didnt show his size well. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 22, 2008 Root Admin Posted April 22, 2008 Did you try grubs on the gravel banks? I haven't been up on TR since the high water so I may be all wet but I do well if I find gravel and swim a dark grub close to the bottom.
denjac Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 Phil, I have thrown the grub all over the place. Just me I guess, not at the right place at the right time. You need to hop over here and and experiance this high water. I am over the shock of it and kinda wish it would stay that way now. Dam area was a little bit cloudy yesterday with lots of floaters, saw one the size of a telephone pole floating out of the Indians. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo.
