Members fishin'chemteacher Posted June 23, 2008 Members Posted June 23, 2008 Fishin'chemteacher, Moonshine beach is closed and will likely remain so until the lake is closer to 923'. The corp is concerned with boaters running into the guard rail on the edge(s) of the ramp. The Beach it's self will not be open this year according to the Corps. focused: thanks for the report. Moonshine worked out great last year in Aug. Hardly anyone at the ramp and close to a great cove for kids. Any thoughts on other ramps close by that would not have lots of traffic over the 4th holiday? Looking for a somewhat secluded ramp and cove to pull grandkids slow on tube and skis without fear of being run over. Will have boat at Lilleys fishing Taney most of the week, kids and grandkids coming in on Thursday. Water temp in Taney is a little on the cool side for kids. Wouldn't mind if I had to drive a-ways to find the right spot on Table Rock.
focused fishing Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Great question, the few ramps that will be open over the 4th will be a mess. The only thing I can think of would be Mill Creek or Cow Creek. With either of those you would be able to pull into the adjacent creek and have a little room for tubing. If I had to choose I would take Cow Creek, no courtesy dock but a great ramp that is under utilized. Probably not the best choice of weeks to spend in Branson, but only time the kids could get away from jobs in KC. Anytime spent fishing and being with the family is worth it though. This forum is the greatest--Thanks Phil and all who post. I really enjoy.
rps Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Went by Houseman yesterday. It is in good shape to launch and has ample parking next to the ramp.
Flippin Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 anybody know the status of the cape fair launch and aunt creek launch
