Whodat Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Sent my son down to guide my uncle and my dad yesterday and what a day. All 3 limited out by 4 when we got down there. My neighbor was done by noon. Nice sized, about an average of 11 -13 inches with a few black crappie. 4 catfish and 2 walleye to boot.
Dutch Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Nice. So what brand of chainsaw did they use to get back into the brush?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 18, 2008 Root Admin Posted May 18, 2008 Where were they... depth of water and all? I wonder if they are moving on Table Rock?
Members bigfish Posted May 18, 2008 Members Posted May 18, 2008 yeah crappie fishing is good right now we had 22 keepers 3 shorts and 2 drum and a big carp. in about a 8 hour trip most were females only found one male that was the only black crappie we had they were full of baby shad and crawfish. Most of the fish were 13-14in long but very fat fish too say the least. Got to stay in the middle of the lake.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 18, 2008 Root Admin Posted May 18, 2008 Got to stay in the middle of the lake. What????
Members bigfish Posted May 19, 2008 Members Posted May 19, 2008 yeah you heard me right in the middle of the lake laugh it up now try it and see all in the middle of the lake i know the other people on the lake think i am stupid but done it for 2 years in a row now and there are crappie and walleye every where in the middle of the lake
bclift65706 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 not to crazy I catch them out in open water during and after the spawn before the fish move to the summer pattern usually 10 to 20 ft water over and around humps like fishing for whitebass and wiper. sounds crazy but true just follow the shad
Flippin Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 How deep is the water in the middle where you are catching them? Are the crappie suspended at a certain depth?
Whodat Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 The fish are suspended I guess.Trolling with crankbaits that get down 15-18 feet deep. The water is around 30 foot deep in most places.
Members bigfish Posted May 20, 2008 Members Posted May 20, 2008 i was in 30-48 some places dropped to 50 but the baits only run so deep but it is good fishing if you find them you just have to follow them baby shad right dave you know how to do it better than me.we saw whose side of the livewell was full and who had 6 crappie to your limit but still good quality crappie biting and not many short fish.
