Ham Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Sounds like you had the baits and tackle all figured out. The upper river is beautiful and has fish, but I really think the fishing gets better when the river has a little less gradient. I love the Buffalo. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. jdavis Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Thanks for the report. I have backpacked most of the upper Buffalo and fished some of it with my pack rod. However, I have yet to float it. It will have to become a priority. FYI... The small bluff just upstream of the Hemmed-in-Hollow trail is a great camp site.
Members 713lefty Posted June 15, 2008 Author Members Posted June 15, 2008 jd, Do you mean the under cut section protected from the rain? It was about 10 feet above the water level. ham, Do you mean better fishing from Hwy 7 down?
WebFreeman Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 That is a beautiful stretch--about the prettiest I've ever seen. I've camped at Jim Bluff before. We had hiked down from Compton I think to Hemmed In and then crossed the river to Jim Bluff. “Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau Visit my web site @ webfreeman.com for information on freelance web design.
