I was hoping to give another stellar report on Big Sugar, but that isn't the case this time. I got to the creek around 8:00 and put the yak in at Deep Ford. Paddled upstream and fished as much as I could, but to be honest, the wind was brutal! I caught four smallies right off the bat then things got slow. Actually, the wind was more than I wanted to deal with so I packed up the yak and headed down to the low water bridge for some fun. I must have ran over the bridge over a dozen times and then I also played in the water behind the bridge. That was fun surfing the hole. I did get kicked out of the hole once and I tipped over, but other than that it was a blast! I also ended up helping a few people out when they tipped over. After all that I went home tired.

should have started further up river.

we (group of 12) floated from powell to cyclone over the weekend. lots and lots of smallmouths were taken on the right baits. some guys really struggled, but my buddy and i caught lots of fish on small worms/grubs rigged on a jig head.

there's a lot of downed trees and tree limbs in the water above lil guadalajara

Well, I was on my own this time around and just wanted to get out for a few hours of fun. That's pretty funny about the "lil guadalajara". Know what your talking about.
