The rest of the story...mmmmmm

Quickly put

Night fishing Toledo Bend with Uncle-Moccasin falls out of tree into boat-Uncle unloads a 38-then we head back to the truck with 6+ inches of water in the boat.

Oh, by the way, the snake got away!

I killed a 5 1/2 ft rattlesnake several years ago in Arkansas while I was squirrel hunting. It was coiled up about a 12 inches from my foot with its head up and it was not rattling. I feel no remorse for sending that snake to snake heaven. But as I get older, if they don't bother me I don't go out of my way to harm them.

Big discussion on here a while back about killing snakes. Someone quoted a MO law and stated that it is illegal to kill snakes in MO. You will probably get a ticket in the mail soon. They will just use your pic and post in court to prove you broke the law. Kinda like those stoplight cameras. LOL

I would rather be fishin'.

Yeah. The same way the guides are gonna get busted for price fixing. :o You know... with Big Brother watching these days and getting into everyone's business... nothing would surprise me. <_<

Maybe those redlight cameras could double up and catch those who have a snake find it's way under their tires.

Pretty soon we won't leave our houses because we can't afford fuel or fear we are are in violation of some kind of law with a stiff penalty.

I have run across copperheads frequently, even in my back yard that borders a creek backed by a tall ridge. Neighors stack firewood on oak palets = copperhead heaven. I have never seen an aggressive copperhead, only time when I saw one shedding it's skin, it could not see, so I don't blame him, he's scared, so stay away from shedding copperheads. Always look carefully before you reach or step.

If you have children, you have to get rid of them, period. (Ahem) the copperheads, not the kids.

I have a black snake around the back for years, last skin she shed was 6 ft long!!!

Here's a couple of pics of her a few years ago raiding the blue bird box. No she didn't get them, and yes I moved the box!! The Blue birds have raised one clutch and are starting on a second.

Remind me NEVER to fishing with you Bman. I think you should change your forum name to "SnakeWhisperer".

I found a perfect black snake skin (head to tail) in the garage at my rental house and it measured 4 feet, that was 2 years ago. Gave it to the nephew for Cub Scouts. I hope she is still around, must be, I rarely see any field mice.

The pic of the entire snake on the fence is excellent. Thanks for sharing.
