patfish Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Cheif, I disagree. YOU didn't get anyone in trouble. THEY did it to themselves, and probably have been for a long time just never got caught. You were just a keen set of eyes and aware of the regs. Right on Brother!
Thom Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Chief, you get an attaboy as well as the agent. Had a simular experience at Bennet one summer and didn't feel badly at all. Thom Harvengt
bclift65706 Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Instead of catching her fish for her he should have helped her catch her owne fish.
Chief Grey Bear Posted July 7, 2008 Author Posted July 7, 2008 Thanks to all that responded. I have to say I have the same sentiments. Terry - Your thought about the 8 also ran through my head. Then I thought otherwise. Remember, there is another stringer out there somewhere with, I would assume, 4 trout. That would put his number at 9 when I called and if not stopped, who know what he would have ended up with. BUT, that is also somewhat of an assumption on my/our part. flyfishmaster Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Chief, I commend you on making the call but I have to agree with Terry on this one. There have been multiple times I been with a group of buddies out hunting or fishing that we pool together to meet our daily limits in what ever species we were after. At times people just are not lucky, in the right spot or just don't have the ability to fill the daily quota. So to make a long story short, I would have made the call too. But only after I knew they had put their 9th fish on the string. later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
bigredbirdfan Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I would have to agree with the previous posts on over both people's daily limit. Just to other points that have been made. I can assure you that a lot more people will be catching food as a source of nourishment and after you spend the kind of money it now costs for a daily fishing trip in "put and take" bodies of water a family deserves to take home a limit for dinner regardless of who caught them.
Chief Grey Bear Posted July 7, 2008 Author Posted July 7, 2008 I don't agree with that at all. What kind of ethics are were portraying when have someone to do the hunting and fishing for us. By your way of thinking, I can catch and keep 40, 50, 60, or whatever number you want, and keep them all as long as I give them to someone in allotments of 4. I wonder just how long our resources would last doing that. Oh wait, we did do that until about 1937. darn Liberals! Dave Cook Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 100% behind you Chief. If I see someone who appears to be ignorant of the regs, I will let them know what they are doing wrong. Once they keep fishing after they ignore the regs (this person knew it), then as in this case by his own actions, he earned the ticket. Dave Cook Missouri Trout Fishermen's Association - Kansas City
soggyfeet Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I belive when he said Chief he was referring to the screen name Chief greybear Brian
bigredbirdfan Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I thought those who protect resources were called conservationist. Most liberals aren't even sure where food comes from.
