Members Shaner
I can' t find good information on the Truman site, so I was hoping I could pick the minds of some you who has experience with Truman. The lake is very high but is dropping. Any areas you think I should try and what works well up there at this time of year. Obviously the fish won't be suspended in ft of muddy water. Any kindly advice would be greatly appreciated. Or anyone I could talk to? Take Care, Shane
denjac
I always did better in the little Pom arm , but has been a few years since I have been up there. If there is any top bite throw a prop bait. Crappie5
I used to fish truman quite a bit until gas got so high. Here is a site to go to and check out the fishing report. It is a good honest report. I know the people who write it. Hopefuly it helps. This is from Bucksaw Marina. http://www.bucksaw.com/fishingreport.htm
Troy Gregg
Shane, I am not sure how the fish are acting now, but I fished a tournament on June 29th. The clarity of the water was amazing that day, especially for Truman. If the water has gone back to being murky or even muddy then I would fish shallow, in the willows. The jig would probably be my bait of choice. I know the weekend of the 28th, and 29th there were alot of jig fish caught. Like Denjac said, if there is a topbite, throw a prop bait, Buzzbait's were working fairly well a few weeks ago. As far as were to fish, there is alot of extra water and I am not sure how high it is now. Find the willows, thats about all I can tell you. Good Luck Troy Gregg
captmac
Fished the Grand arm , heartland team in June. Caught fish in about 5 feet of water on 45 to 55 degree sloping bank, near main lake points, What we didn't do was adjust later in the day to fish the deeper fish in these points. we used a 10 inch black and red berkley worm, rigged black side down. Heard that a dd22 and deep jigs were the ticket, hope this is some help, let us know how you did. To have a true friend is wonderful, to have a true friend who fishes with you....... priceless
Members Shaner
Hey guys thanks for all the great info! Denjac said he had better luck out of the Pom arm. I've only been in the Tebo and Osage arm. Where do you think we should focus at? Is there one arm that is better then most for points and willows? Once again thanks for the great info. Whack'emGood
Shane, I haven't been up there but... a couple of weeks ago a guy I know who is a very credible source (and who fishes up there all of the time) told me that a couple of weeks back he was catching alot of fish (and nice ones) on jigs in the willows. You aren't Shane Long are you? Just asking because I went to high school with him, but haven't talked to him since high school. Good luck in the tourney! If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
