Hogfan
The wife and I are driving over to Grove this weekend and will be spending a couple days out on the lake. Anyone have any info on water level and color? Would like to fish from Sailboat Bridge up the Elk but I don't know what the rain has done to the color. This is only my second time on the lake so any fishing info would be appreciated as well. I like throwing the C-rig and football jig out a little deeper, but I don't mind flippin and crankin either! Quillback
Here's a link to the Grand lakes reports - there's a couple of recent reports, sounds like the bass fishing has been good this year. Sounds like jigs and shaky heads are the way to go. http://grandfishingreport.com/pgs/reports/reports.htm
wily
lake level is 748 or so, which is about 3 foot lower than when i was there two weeks ago. all ramps will be usable at this level...the problem with the ramps starts above 750. honey creek usually has the clearest water but the elk won't be too far behind
Hogfan
Thanks guys. I didn't know if all the rain in SW Missouri the last week would be enough to muddy the Elk up or not. I'll probably fish up the Elk one day and the mid lake area the other.
Members Tyler
I was up there last week. First time ever... Its a great lake. A buddy and i caught some good fish. Our best 5 keepers per day averaged 16-18 lbs per day. We had 2 huge largemouth's break the hooks clean off 2 of our buzz-baits. All we saw is them swirl at the bait and they ran with it. We were fishing main lake points and flippin coves also small cuts with lots of structure.
