fishinSWMO Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 The wife and I took the kids to the creek for a little swim today. It Feels good to sit in the creek on a hot day. Andrew and Jack managed to get in some fishing close by. fishinSWMO Jeremy Dodson
Members CDC Posted August 3, 2008 Members Posted August 3, 2008 Nice rock bass. I swear there is a state record rock bass in that river...
Danoinark Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Fishin' That's some happy looking kids. It's great to get them out despite the heat and sounds like you all had a great time. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
wily Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 what access are you using? we used to go to the undercliff campground but they've closed it down. i don't like tipton ford access...too many beer cans and trash wildcat stinks...cherry corner or whatever they call that in diamond is about like tipton ford.
Chief Grey Bear Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I concer, nice fish. And boy, just look at that smile. Its a shame so many parents use electronics for babysitting perposes. Nothing better than spending time outdoors. As a family. Wily- Sorry you can't fish anymore. I have a great time at all the places you mentioned. fishinSWMO Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 Wily, We were just off the road along scenic drive, there is still a few places you can get to the water. Saw quite a few people floating the creek the short time we were there. Fishin Jeremy Dodson
wily Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 chief, don't worry we still get to fish often. i just don't want to take my kids to a place where there's trash scattered everywhere. don't get me wrong...i'm not opposed to beer cans...believe me they've seen a lot of them, but i am opposed to the people that leave them. we went down by powell on the big sugar saturday morning. we had a good time, but I would like to find another good place closer to home. we really like the undercliff campground...too bad it closed. hopefully they'll open up again next year.
Chief Grey Bear Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 The last I knew, it was for sale. Close to $400K IIRC. I am guessing until someone buys it, it will remain closed. ollie Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I'm sure the flooding didn't help them out at all. At least they still have the restuarant and bar. I drive by there everyday to work and I thought I saw a for sale sign once, but I haven't seen it since.
