fishinSWMO Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Such hate is just weird. I am mostly concerned about where the fish are biting and when. Is that WRONG? I sure hope not, because thats all I think about How many homes do you own? (that was just funny) Either one will probably let this country continue on the same path its going. I am not much for politics, people dividing into groups and thinking they are superior to the other group. Jeremy Dodson
jdmidwest Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 "Either one will let this country continue on the path its going"??? That is the problem with all that is going on. Our country is governed by those that lack the morals that most of us on this forum and America value, but we just shrug our shoulders and let it keep on its path. This election was rigged from the get go, who would have thought going into it that the conservative Republicans would back a person that sided with the other party several times and was lambasted for it. Who would have thought Nobama could defeat the golden girl. Every general election in the past that I have voted has been for the lesser of 2 evils. Clinton vs Bush vs Perot. Clinton vs Viagra. Bush Jr. vs Gore. Bush Jr. vs Kerry. Now this one. Why can't I walk in and cast a vote for something I feel good about? Politics should not be about hate or feeling superior, just values and ideas. Buzz Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Obviously, this is not a good place for Democrats, as is most of the rest of the state of Missouri. McCain is the epitomy of a flipflopper. When it was (or is) in his best interest he has backed BUSH, otherwise he was against him. He can't be trusted to do anything different than the current administration, because he has sold out to them just to get elected. I truly believe that he is much more moderate than BUSH, but he would have way too many markers out to do anything good. Nobama as you call him( which I find to be very offensive) might actually have a chance to do something if the House and Senate gain the Democrat seats that they need to actually get something done. ANWR, I have only one thing to say about that...........CHA CHING. All of that oil would go to the same place that it is going now, Japan and China. It wouldn't help us out at all. That is just one more farce of the 21st century, like Ethanol. Between the corn lobbiest and the oil lobbiest we don't stand a chance. Unless you can figure out how to power your truck on wind power, which we get a lot of, or maybe hot air is a better word for it, the price we pay for fuel will continue to climb. For better or worse I will have to vote Democrat again, because I just can't get behind anything the other guys have to say. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
jjtroutbum Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 If we could just vote option C nun of the above. And If there are more C's checked than either A or B. We the people get to hold new elections with different choices. Which would automatically lead to four or five political parties. A win win I my book. However this is the real world and I do not believe that the two political parties in the country would ever allow this to happen. Why? POWER!!!! They have been given to much, are drunk with it, and want more. "There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. taxidermist Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 NoBama does not have the experience to deal with the World Politics. 164 days in Federal office and nothing more than a UNION organizer in Chi town. One day he says one thing the next day something else, which ever way the winds blows so does Nobamas ideals. When you stop and listen to him the few things he is consistant on is in line with Communism/Socialism. Next he says the CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES is a living document and needs to be changed, not in part but in whole!!! He is wrong on this. How could a man with NOBAMAS MONEY not help he brother living in a bathroom sized tin hut in Kenya??? Yea some great change he is doing!!! Million dollar house and done with a crooked undertable deal on the loan. The man who helped get the loan is a convicted felon. McCain I don't agree with many things on his list either certainly the lesser of the EVILS, he has certainly served the country, did not spend his youth in a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. To vote for a person because he is for change, but has little experience leading anyone anywhere???? No in my books!!!!!!!! Certainly no solid plan for anything except to limit your income and income potential Who gave NOBAMA his money? Millions of dollars and he don't think he is rich???? Is he an idiot???? Is he going to give his money away to help the poor? No he is not refer to his brother living on one dollar per month in Kenya!!! [size 15] NOBAMA is a fake as a countrfiet twenty dollar bill!!!

Guest kevinkirk Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Here is the bottom line in ANY election. If Obama gets elected where will the fish be biting the next day. and... If McCain gets elected...where will the fish be biting the next day..... Doesnt change my focus in life, concentration on whats REALLY important nor my plans for lunch. I think all those politicians are about the same, run by big money interests. Just let me work and fish and sleep

Chief Grey Bear Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Have you noticed that a discussion of politics on OAF is about as exciting as the subject of catch and release ... or even better, shufflin' The use of the term "...discussion of politics on OAF..." must be used with extreme caution. I have yet to read any "discussion". All I have read is the typical scare tactics, if you have low common sense you may believe them, that have been heavily used and perfected since the 2000 election. Two members have attempted to debate in this thread but, as you have seen, it is much more fun, I guess, to attempt to lob sophomoric attacks at the other side. Have fun boys, I'll be staying out of the reindeer games. If need be though, after the election, I will be able to forward some delicious recipes for crow. taxidermist Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Ok Chief. What leadership abilities do you see or anyone else see in Obama? I dont see anything I would call leadership. McCain has proven he is a leader.
