techo Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 We started fishing at about 7:30 AM. My partner insists on going for coffee in the morning. We put in at Aunt's Creek and started in the trees and bushes with a spinner bait after reading other people's reports I saw some smaller fish chasing, but never could get them to bite. I switched to old reliable (Eakins Jewel jig) and caught one a bit over eighteen inches right away. It was a fun day with seventeen fish caught. I think we had four keepers and the rest were shorts. The majority of the fish were Kentucky's. The earlier we caught the fish the shallower they were. We caught them from 4 feet to 18 feet deep by 2:00 PM. Tim Carpenter

rps Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Today, Tuesday, was my 7th day with students. Unless the snows cause me to lose days, I can fish midweek for a week in March and then again as of June. I am waiting already.
techo Posted August 27, 2008 Author Posted August 27, 2008 The cool thing about working weekends is that i get to fish when there are less people on the lake. My friend Tom called and said the fish looked fairly small. The bigger fish actually over ran my eighteen inch MDC measure sticker. Tom said I needed to let you folks know that I am close to eight feet tall and about 4 or 5 hundred pounds with very broad shoulders. That way the size of the fish would get the respect it wants. Know what you mean, techo. I'm 6-4, 300-too-dang-much and can make a 6-pounder look like a 2-pounder in pix.
captmac Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Sounds like you two should go in to the fertilizer business Just kidding of course, just a little while and the lake will be returned to us fishermen , remember TO "FLICK and DIP" To have a true friend is wonderful, to have a true friend who fishes with you....... priceless
