Fishhand
Jim- is that statement written by Obama? Strange statement. He switches from first person to second person and back to first all in the same paragraph. I'm sorry but I have a real problem with his relationship with his pastor. Actions speak louder than words. For him to stay in a chuch for as long as he did with this kind of leadership speaks volumes. I don't pretend to try to sway you or anyone else from changing your vote. Ultimately, most of us vote on the party and their issues and stances, not the person him (or her) self. I will vote republican most of the time because of their conservative stance. At times, I have to bite my lip (Dole in 1996). Hey Phil, As far as I can tell, the letter is written by Obama. I checked a couple of sources and the text of the letter was the same. I tried finding it on Obama's websight, but was unable to locate it. I'm not sure if the source where I pulled it leans to the left or right. I've heard some rumors in regards to Palin's pastor. Some of us may find it interesting, some not. I won't post a link to it until the quotes and philosophies I've heard are substantiated more thoroughly. Plus, I haven't really researched it, so I don't want to be caught speaking out of my arse. Then again, I may not post anything 'cause, darn, I am outnumbered. I'm really not an a..hole. I don't think you are trying to sway me or anyone else from changing their vote. I appreciate you letting us vent on the topic. I also appreciate the stopping of the name calling and inuendo regarding Obama's name. That crap was petty. This topic has been time consuming but otherwise refreshing to me personally. I've researched more during this election than any other. Both left and right wing sights and television programs. We definitely have different opinions! I think the USA will be fine whomever is elected President.

Can we get an opinion on the flat tax from our liberal writers and independents?

Guest kevinkirk
Didnt say I knew HOW to cheat on taxes but I know ppl tell me what they do like using business monies for private use. Like lets say you are a guide. You can LEGALLY go out alone and SCOUT for fish while enjoying a nice day on the lake with your family. Is that legal. Its on the line as you are not just scouting. Or putting gas in the boat for family trip and charging it to your business. Or same with any business. Taking trip and writing off motel for business cuz you looked at materials at the local home depot there and you are a contractor. THere are lots of ways if you own a home business THE BEST is a farm tho. I am selling my farm and will miss the deductions there.
bigredbirdfan
Obama/Biden camp ought to be real careful attacking Palin. Clinton voters are starting to view her as being treated like Hillary was by the media and are standing behind Palin. They should stop it immediately before it is too late to get them to vote Obama/Biden http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13129.html
techo
I heard Palin speak when I lived in Alaska. I can tell you that parts of the speech were hers. She has a tongue in cheek kind of humor. Parts of it was not hers. The best parts I think were written by her. The delivery was all hers. The way she paused and told the pit bull joke when the hockey moms signs went up was priceless. I wonder if it was part of the speech or something she threw in there at the time. Tim Carpenter
