Chief Grey Bear
Smear and fear? What is wrong with the country today under the Bush Administration? We still have a low unemployment rate. Now at 6%. the highest in 5 years. The economy has slowed because of the election and higher fuel prices but we have used less and prices are going down. I don't know how you can blame the economy on the election. The dollar is improving. Improving from record or near record lows. Still not anywhere near as strong as it was even in 2000. We still have plenty of safe food to eat. Today maybe. In the last 7 years we have experienced a record number of food borne illness'. We can still go to sleep at night without fear of attack from terrorists. Just the same as we have since Dec. 7, 1942. Crime rates are down. I think that may only be relevent to where you live. Tax rates have been cut at my pay grade. Maybe. But I don't mind paying a little more in taxes. Why should my children have to spend a life time paying for what happened the last 8 years. The Democratic party wants to change that? Yes we do. /quote] Chief Grey Bear Living is dangerous to your health Owner Ozark Fishing Expeditions Co-Owner, Chief Executive Product Development Team Jerm Werm Executive Pro Staff Team Agnew Executive Pro Staff Paul Dallas Productions Executive Pro Staff Team Heddon, River Division Chief Primary Consultant Missouri Smallmouth Alliance Executive Vice President Ronnie Moore Outdoors
bigredbirdfan
Mywife is a doc and if you want to go to the same system as canada or england you are nuts. She had patient here who was on 9 month waiting list for an MRI. I had to have one and got it in 2 hours. But will weed out a lot of folks for sure and help with jobs shortages etc. All the 55 and older guys who have stints and bypasses wont make it and those jobs will be available to the younger folks. All my friends would be long gone by now. k I heard in Europe that they are required to "treat" you in so many hours when you arrive at a hospital by ambulance so they leave you in the ambulance parked outside or drive you around because there are so many people jamming up their emergency rooms because they can't get into regular physicians. Now I am not saying that social medicine is what is needed. I have insurance and suspect I always will, but there needs to be something in place for everyone to get it and in our present society its not available or affordable for everyone. The economy is in good shape. The rest of the world is just jealous. Everything is fine. Oh yeah. Well I bet our doctors rank #1 in compensation and days off! So take that! I had a small child relative that, as children will do, stuck some popcorn kernels up his nose. He is 3. After getting a couple of them out, they couldn't get the rest. So they loaded up and went to the hospital. It was 8pm. This is a small hospital in a small town. Their own doctor would not come in until the next morning. Didn't feel like it. So they leave and head for a larger hospital about an hour away. Problem solved. Four more kernel were extracted. Yeah, I asked the same question, how did a 3-year old get 6 kernels of popcorn in one nostril? Nobody seems to know. But they do know one thing, their old doctor has one less family of 4 to take care of. Chief Grey Bear
I forgot to add, you may want to ask the 600k+ that have lost their jobs since jan. of this year how the economy is going. hank franklin
The speech went over well with 40 million tuning in only 2 million less than Obama's speech and his was aired on 4 additional minority channels that didn't carry her speech. From the interest in her and the reviews from her speech not sure Mrs. Palin needs to do a thing except keep up the conservative message. I'm going to vote for Hulshof, and after last night I am leaning toward McCain. I need to know A LOT more about Palin before I will vote for McCain however. Palin might prove herself yet, and believe me I'm open. But this willingness to jump on her bandwagon after one speech is just incredible to me. People see a good looking woman with five kids who governs a small state and immediately say "That's it! That's who I want to help lead my country!" I mean really, what IS that? I just don't get it. McCain is a great American and he inspired me last night to "do better." I've always liked him and after last night he has a real claim to be President. An awesome speech from an awesome man. I would be happy to vote for him. But Palin? She just turned me off. Yuck.
Danoinark
I also have not been overly impressed with Pallin. Obviously there are more qualified Republican females that could have been chosen if that was what McCain was trying to provide with his selection. I received an email today and typically disregard any kind of forwarded information as bunk. Mostly I will research it on snopes.com and 9 times out of 10 will find that the information is false. Here is one that you are welcome to read and decided for yourself. I copied the snopes.com url Remember the women did say she wrote the letter, but obviously I cannot verify the contents as true. http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/kilkenny.asp Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
