soggyfeet
Hank I hope by small state you meen population wise cause by no means is alaska small. And I would expect that with their commercial fishing, oil industry, and tourisam they have a pretty substancial bank account to match 50%(guessing) of the other states. hank franklin
Dano, thanks for that. I hadn't seen it. It appears legit. One thing that's so ironic is in the Lower 48 you got people everywhere hurting from high gas prices. But in Alaska you got the government handing out cash because oil revenues are (excuse the pun) gushing! Incredible. Obama is a stuffed suit long on vision. His choice of Biden was comforting to me, as Biden has been in the game a long time. McCain on the other hand needs economic expertise. Phil Gramm was his man but Phil calls us all "whiners." I wasn't a big Mitt Romney fan but I do think he had some upside. Pawlenty was probably more my style. Palin is just all politics. If McCain was a little younger and Palin wouldn't be so close to the Presidency I might view her a little differently. But the circumstances pretty much require that you evaluate her in terms of actually being president. And right now that just seems INSANE, I'm sorry. I know a few GOP operatives and in the primary they were complaining about McCain's erratic, loose cannon, borderline crazy behavior. (These were mainly Romney supporters.) Talk to them now and they'll grant Palin's choice helped politically but on a pure decision making level they think it was just crazy. More evidence of McCain's erratic nature, which believe me is a major source of discomfort among the GOP operatives. It still remains to be seen what McCain's organization in Missouri will look like. I kind of made a vow this season to not talk politics online. Oh well, couldn't help myself.
Fishhand
I have been doing some research on McCain vs. Obama in terms of policy positions. I wanted to provide you guys with some websites I've found that compare them one on one. I honestly do not know if the creators / contributors to these websites lean to the right or left. They seemed unbiased with the data and information based on real facts and quotes. I hope it helps. As he said its not who leads in the polls its how many electoral votes are accumulated. http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/stumper/arc...this-thing.aspx Irregardless of the electoral process, the national polls have shown Obama in the lead by 5-10 since the final primaries. McCain is now in the lead. A troubling position for Obama. He will soon pull his advertising out of states he cannont win and blitz Texas and Flordia. trout fanatic
I think I'll vote for Bill Dance. He's a good ol boy (gooder than bubba ever was), provides comic relief in his outtakes and catches bigger bass than either Obama or McCain. He could teach them religeous fanatics how to catch big bass and they would spend all their money in wal-mart. Which would in turn make Zebco the largest company in the universe and improve our economy. Wonder who is runnin partner would be????????
