Chief Grey Bear Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Well I will tell you JD, that post there proves that you are not listening to anything but what you want to hear. Go back and read all of my post again. You will find a post that tells you why I am going to vote for him. You obviously did not watch the town hall meeting last night with McCcain and Obama. He clearly stated that he wants to increase the Army and Marines. You certainly didn't read the link provided that explained the truth about his tax plan. Actually I can tell by you whole first paragraph that you do nothing more than listen to Rush and hang on his every word. I am sorry that you can't think for yourself JD. All of the research had been done for you. All you had to do was click and read the link. But as you have proved with your Rush like ramblings above, you are refusing to acknowledge the truth. bigredbirdfan Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 You obviously did not watch the town hall meeting last night with McCcain and Obama. Do you know why it was a town hall meeting and not a town hall debate???? Obama won't agree to town hall debates. He only agrees to appear seperatly so he won't get hit with any tough questions
jdmidwest Posted September 12, 2008 Author Posted September 12, 2008 No, I missed the Town Hall meeting and Governor Palin's interview. I was busy trying to figure out what to do this weekend with friends and trying to figure out this weather pattern. I can think for myself, I really don't think the country is in a mess and needs to be changed. I think that the tax system is broke and needs fixed. I think that government wastes alot of my tax dollars, and that they take enough of my money. I think that Obama is not a leader that can accomplish anything due to his lack of experience and qualifications. I will not vote for anyone that is anti-gun like him and that is based on his past voting record on issues. I really have not seen a link on here that shows his great message, post it again if you can find it and I will look at it unless it requires high speed internet. I am on dialup here and don't waste time on a large downloads. If you have been paying attention, I have been asking to see your side of the story, but I have not seen any posts that state why anyone should vote for him. jdmidwest Posted September 13, 2008 Author Posted September 13, 2008 Smear and Fear! A political tactic used during election years to strike fear in the general public that our Great USA is in bad shape and they are going to be the ones to fix it. Usually accelerated by politicians, media, and general rebel rousers. How can anyone promote change unless they can strike an idea in the American public that something is wrong with the America we all love so well, The Greatest Country on Earth. But some want to change it…. Sorry I have been away this week and left this red letter post unanswered. I went camping on my homewaters this weekend and had a blast. I have been enjoying this fine weather each afternoon after work outside and not wasting time on the computer. But I am back and I moved this over to a new thread as it does not have any relevance to the Sarah Palin thread for the most part. I'll use Green to make my response On Sept 5, Chief Greybear responded to my quote. 'jdmidwest' date='Sep 5 2008, 06:13 AM' post='80994'] Smear and fear? What is wrong with the country today under the Bush Administration? We still have a low unemployment rate. Now at 6%. the highest in 5 years. Actually 5.8% At the time I posted, it was lower and the new report had not come out yet. Reason that it went up was due to kids going back to school and it normally happens this time of year. It has been on the decline since 2003. Here is a nice article http://www.miseryindex.us/URbyyear.asp If you look at that chart, seems like it goes down a lot on election years? The economy has slowed because of the election and higher fuel prices but we have used less and prices are going down. I don't know how you can blame the economy on the election. From past experience as a business owner that dealt with retail business owners one on one, consumer confidence drops each time that there is a major election due to all of the smear and fear. Some people are scared to buy things when they are uncertain of the future. This usually affects non essential items like autos, TV’s, computers, and other luxury items, you know, big dollar stuff we really don’t need anyway. Staple items are not usually affected. In 2000, some weak minded individuals forgot that we still had a President until the Supreme Court certified the election results and declared Bush the winner. In 2008, OPEC and Speculators hammered one of our staples hard and America bounced back by using less of the product. See how it is dropping now. I heard a report the other day that the Transportation Dept. may run out of money soon as we have been using less fuel and they have been collecting less taxes. The dollar is improving. Improving from record or near record lows. Still not anywhere near as strong as it was even in 2000. Why was the dollar week? Probably because we buy more overseas than we import or produce ourselves. Our country is fast becoming a service country instead of a manufacturing country. Why? We keep buying cheap foreign crap and killing our high quality American Products. Look at the labels next time you shop and see what country is weakening our dollar. Here is a nice article.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_public_debt" target=_blank"> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_public_debt </a> The stock market has rebounded nicely too. We still have plenty of safe food to eat. Today maybe. In the last 7 years we have experienced a record number of food borne illness'. We still need to plug the hole in the border fence that lets all the illegals in with poor hygiene. We need to eat our own food products and quite buying Overseas Products from nasty third world countries like China. Read the label and buy AMERICAN, I do! We can still go to sleep at night without fear of attack from terrorists. Just the same as we have since Dec. 7, 1942. Sorry, I am not old enough to remember Pearl Harbor. I have lived thru the last part of the COLD WAR and know where to go in case of a nuclear attack. Thanks to Sept. 11 2001, I now know how to tape my windows and walk thru airport security barefoot. At least we know who are enemies are and have a well trained, well equipped, and battle hardened Military Force. I do feel safer knowing this. Sept 2001 I was a little worried where the next attack was going to come from. I feel EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE that current and future leadership under McCain will deal with any threat, not just sit down and try to talk to them. Crime rates are down. I think that may only be relevent to where you live. Violent crimes decreased 1.4% overall from 2006 to 2007 in the US as a whole. Here are the stats if you want to look at them. http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/ucr.htm"" target=_blank"> http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/ucr.htm</a> Tax rates have been cut at my pay grade. Maybe. But I don't mind paying a little more in taxes. Why should my children have to spend a life time paying for what happened the last 8 years. If you have that much money, I’ll send you a bill next year and you can pay some of mine. I am sick and tired of Government Waste and I am going to vote for someone that is going to solve that problem with some other solution than taxing my butt another cent. The Democratic party wants to change that? Yes we do. -------------------- CHIEF GREYBEAR Yeah, sure you do!!! It’s a shame you don’t have someone running that knows how to do it. HOW IS HE GOING TO DO IT???? WHAT IS HIS GREAT PLAN? I moved this to another topic the other day but seems like nobody has seen it. This is what the last line of my post said, not what you edited it to read.... Wait a minute, last night you said I had to read a link and the post tonight says I need to read a previous post. Was that the old Democrat change of words? Which post do you want me to read? I asked you to post it so I can read it and it will inform me. Seems like you could not even post the right info that is in my post. Obviously, you did not notice that I asked you for the link that will enlighten me as to his great plan, the magical secret that all Obama supporters seem to protect to the grave. You are right, discussion over, we don't need your kind of change....... "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
soggyfeet Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Can any of the Obama supporters tell me which tax plan he wants to follow. One day he says no one earning under 250k will get a tax increase and then nest he says nobody, and I (obama) mean nobody in the U.S. will have a tax increase. Brian

Hey Soggyfeet, That I'm aware of, Obama has not said nobody will have a tax increase. From what I've surmised, Obama will eliminate the tax cuts implemented by Bush for those making above $250,000 (not us). McCain will keep those tax cuts in place, overall. An analysis of their tax plans can be found at http://www.taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blo...rison-of-t.html If you don't trust that website and would like to research it on your own, I've found Google is a great search engine. Just type "Obama" "Tax Plan" or "McCain" "tax plan" and see which plan best represents your concerns. Hope that helps.
soggyfeet Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 If you listen carefully he says everyone in one speach and only those makeing under 250k in the other. I dont know about all you guys but I dont make over 250k so this is a good thing thing for me either way reight? I wonder how all of our employers will think about this being as they are the ones footing the bill. I can already see my job comeing to an end. Hopefully with all these min. wage jobs Obama is going to start is going to work cause I'm going to need about 12 of them. Brian
bigredbirdfan Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Hey Fishhand. Did you know that when taxes are lower on those making $250,000 or more (Chief will like this) revenues go up for the government. Raise them and revenues go down. P.S: You can thank the best president in modern history (no not Clinton as much as you would like) for proving this correct. Ronald (don't take crap from communist Chinese or Russia) Reagan
