Your first smallmouth on a fly rod??? I thought we were going to go sometime. We talk about it at least once a year. That was a nice one too.

I've gotten a few older since then. Isn't that a shame. Floods, kids, etc, has slowed down all my fishing this summer.

PM me when you are ready to chase smallies. I know you are busy as well. Maybe we'll get together for a quick tying session before we go?

I remember when you once told me to wait until I had a 18 in smallmouth take off with my fly. Now I know what you get on your smallie trips.

I haven't seen an 18 inch or even 16 inch smallie all year. The floods, kids and work have really hurt me too.

I have had some fun with the 12 to 13 inchers though. But then I haven't put my 3wt down all summer. I love that little rod. And all of the fish have been caught on the same little popper. I ain't setting any records, but I'm having a blast.
