Will do. Thanks a lot!

Hey Bass'er,

Feel free to drop me a line as well. I fish nearly everyday as well. As Larry said the fishing had slowed somewhat since Ike came through. The spinnerbait bite is beginning to pick up again. Target the flooded bushes in the creeks. Point fishing has slowed down for me, but was very good for a couple of weeks there.

It seems that some of the best information on this board will come from Larry though. He has a very good handle on what is going on.

Fished again this morning and the spinnerbait bite is on really good in the backs of creeks. Look for the fish in the tops of the bushes that are in 8 - 10 feet of water. I also had some luch twitching a fluke in the same cover. Caught some smaller fish on a shad colored square bill BB2, but the better fish were on the spinnerbait.

I haven't fished Norfork very much and I was curious if all the ramps were open at this water level...was considering launching at Robinson Point Recreation Area. Thanks in advance for any info!

Robinson Point Recreation Area launch is fine most all ramps are good for launching some ramps are basically launching your boat on the road just above the ramp.As long as you have someone to launch you you will be fine.If your by yourself use Panther Bay launch or the launch at Cranfield park

There is some good topwater spook fishing way up the river arms. Jigs are working on the main lake points and the Smallmouth are moving shallow on the lower lake.Over all the hot fall bite hasn't started yet but should start soon.Right now Jigs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits and rattle traps are all taking a few fish.Keepers are hard to come by right now.My best fish have come on the main lake points and channel bends on jigs and t-rig craws.Mostly smaller fish in the backs of the coves.I caught a nice 3lb+ smallmouth on a watermelon paca craw fishing the flooded campground at Lake Norfork Park this morning that fought like a junk yard dog.

Thanks for the info!

I'm looking forward to it and I hope the shallow bite is on while we're there. I don't have much confidence fishing deep.

That 3 pound smallie sounds like fun!

I caught 28 on the upper lake yesterday. I basically caught fish everywhere I tried, but not many of them have any size. I also could not BUY a topwater bite.

SB's, cranks, jigs. Several nice spotted bass footballs though. Please don't give up on catch and release.

We never keep anything. We're just fishing for fun.

My dad can't get the electronics to work on the boat that he has access to there, so I'll be bringing my boat. We'll be launching out of Panther Bay. It sounds like they're starting to put the feed bag on. :goodjob:

I fished the Big creek and Bennett's area of Norfork yesterday with Mark Goines Host of the TV show Hooked on Fishing we caught over 100 fish mostly between 10 and 14".We did finally find the keeper size fish holding at the base of trees on the flats in 8 foot of water pitching Texas rig Berkley green pumpkin tube baits with a 1/2 oz pegged weights for a fast fall to the base of the trees through the thick limbs....You have to pitch to the center of the tree and let it fall straight down if you pitch to the outside edges of the tree you catch the smaller fish. Many of them bad boys would hit the tube as we started pulling the bait up through the tree for another pitch. Most of the smaller fish hit a white spinnerbait and a 1/4 oz black back chrome rattle trap..Look for the bait fish.

Wow. Thanks for the details, Larry.

I enjoy watching Hooked on Fishing. Mark seems like a good guy.

"Oooooooo, lookie, what a fish!"

Pitching in the trees is something that I can handle.

I'm looking forward to it. Of course, spending time with my dad is always a treat, but if we can catch some good fish it will be that much better.

Thanks again.
