ozarkgunner Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I might head that way saturday not sure yet might go below truman try some flathead fishing october is genrally a good time. I took my personal best below Bagnel last night. A nice 30 lb.+ blue. It maxed out the 30 lb. scale I had. I have camera phones picture does anyone know how to post them? The odd thing is that we only caught two fish the whole night. I had been getting 50-100 small ones, but last night it was only two with one be the big boy. Landed her on 14lb. Stren on my GL3 medium rod. Heck of a good fight. Angler At Law

Seth Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Congrats on the nice blue. I wish I lived a bit closer to Bagnell because it sounds like fishing is really awesome up there right now.
ozarkgunner Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 I'm going to try to head down once more this week. The fish are really stacking up and feeding before winter. Angler At Law
ozarkgunner Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 How clear is the water with the current running? It's clearing up. I think you could gig now. The only problem is the hunting is sooooo good right now. My buddy and I bagged some dirty birds this weekend, so now it is time to spear some deer. Purchased a brand new sumitt climber last night... its like hunting from a lazy boy! Angler At Law
Seth Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Looks like the water is shutting down so we will be heading up there this weekend to gig. I'm so pumped because the gigging up there is insane down river on the gravel bars. I'm trying to hold off on the hunting until the end of the month. The whole first week of November is vacation for me to try and get the big buck.
creek wader Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 10/09 .. It was a beautiful day. Weather sunny and in the lower 80's. Had a coworker that wanted to fish. So, since he wasn't equiped to wade fish, we hit the Lower Osage. Went to the river at Painted Rock CA. Since the dam cut back the release, the river was down quite a bit. The bank was muddy and very slippery. We traveled light and carried ultra lights and a hand full of crappie jigs and one crank bait, already on a pole. Fished about 3 hrs. and caught about 15 bass, a mix of largemouth and spots. Nothing real big. Also, I caught one nice 14 " crappie on a white twister tail. C&R all of them. ... Wader wader
