Ealy
I've got a friend who claims to have caught a 30 lb drum while night fishing at Kimberling many years ago. I've fished all over Table Rock for years and have yet to catch drum on this lake. Are they really down there? I did catch a nice rainbow within site of the dam dropshotting a few summers back. I know trout were residents of the White River, but I'm assuming someone released the fish from Taneycomo. Roaring River's a pretty long haul to the dam. steveearle
They are in there but I have not seen any lately. I saw one the fish kill year (1999) dead that was as big as a rod locker. Growing up we vacationed at Cricket Creek and the marina bulletin board had one every now and then that was 20-30 lbs. Not many but they were always huge.... MOBass
A coworker caught a 20+lb. drum out of Table Rock about 8 years ago. I have heard of trout caught in several areas of the lake including by the dam. I would doubt that anyone would bring one up from Taney and release it. My guess would be it came in from Roaring River and worked it's way down.

Champ188
I suspect the drum population in Table Rock is relatively low. I think it's the only lake in a four-state area where my wife hasn't captured one of those majestic creatures — usually during a team tournament, resulting in considerable hystronics and net-wielding until the piece of crap reveals himself at boatside. Donna G
Now Champ knows that when we are fishing for bass, particularly in a tournament, he tends to squeal like a girl when my rod is bending like I hooked the bottom of the lake. I can't help that drum like me. Somebody needs to ask him about the 15lb cat I landed for him while bass fishing. SOMEBODY was a little excited when he set the hook. I'm relatively new to navigating forums, so I hope this attachment of me and one of my drum friends displays. I've lost 50+ lbs since this pic was taken. Too bad it wasn't sooner. The drum would have looked bigger. focused fishing
I've caught relatively few drum on TR, but when I do they are usually dandies 8lbs.+, Trout seem to show up every year from Campbell point to the dam and back up Long Creek around the 86 bridge. The theories are that some are from Roaring River (the ones caught in the White River)and others are from Dog Wood Canyon (Long Creek). Seems when we start catching them they come in groups of 3 or 4, usually dropshotting or spooning over deep water. Now that was funny !! We've caught several Rainbows on the flats between points 5 & 6 while trolling for whites. Usually in the springtime though. They like that roostertail behind the big Hellbender.
