oneshot Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Ok every day I've been to the river if the wind is blowing at all this time of year seems there is so much junk its awful hard catching a fish.I notice its not just me.Is there a way of getting around this without just waiting for the wind to settle a couple days? oneshot
Paola Cat Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Oneshot ... I hear ya. I've been trying to get out early before the wind picks up. The afternoons are a pain. The leaves are a hassle and the acorns and walnuts are just raining down. There's weeds and sticks and junk floating by. I'm just dealing with it. I'm thinking I might try a sink tip or full sink line next time to see if I can get consistently down through the stuff. PC Cheers. PC
jdmidwest Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Leaves are fun when fishing for trout, use a terrestrial or caddis, target a leaf and then "hop" it off for a natural presentation. This time of year, alot of trout are looking up for a meal. Hoppers, beetles, ants, and big caddis are meals to fatten up with for the winter. jjtroutbum Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Lots of targets to avoid. Improves my casting by necessity. But ya its a pain also. A slower pick up seems to help some.
