flyfishmaster Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I just got back from a lunch hour trip to Walker Lake in Kirkwood (STL). I landed 9 bow all were caught on a silver flatfish. It was a bit windy today to try the fly rod, maybe when the wind dies down a bit. I'll be out there again tomorrow. later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
flyfishmaster Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 Went to Walker again for lunch. I was able to catch 3 all on a Little Cleo white. The wind was blowing more than my last ....... (you fill in the blank) Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
DoveTail Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I was able to catch 3 all on a Little Cleo white. What are Litlle Cleo whites? Any pics or links to pics? Do those lakes have a ton of people around them? I guess the trout will be hungry so they may hit some dry fly action or is it all wets?
mhall02 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 What are Litlle Cleo whites? Color choices below: http://www.acmetackle.com/scripts/littlecleo_colors.html
flyfishmaster Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 Dovetail, Walker is only 2.5 acres so it is very small. At 11 AM there were 6 people fishing so when you start moving around every few minutes it does not take long to cover the entire lake. There are some areas That I can cast from bank to bank. I have not tried any flies yet due to the very windy conditions the last two days, I will once the elements calm down, or wait until Obama sends "Change" request to mother nature. Well I would take a picture of the White Cleo for you but I think the Taney Giant Quid relocated and ate my lure this afternoon at Walker. I hate that thing. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
