Members KCNitro Posted November 6, 2008 Members Posted November 6, 2008 Does anyone have a pair of Oakley straight jacket sunglasses? Looking to get a new pair of sunglasses and these look pretty good. Also wondering about what lens to get, deep blue or shallow blue?
steveearle Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I fish the Oakley Monster Dogs. I have the amber for lower light and the black/blue mirror lenses for brighter light....nd I like them a lot....
Members RICKMO Posted November 9, 2008 Members Posted November 9, 2008 I HAVE WORE OAKLEY GLASSES FOR YEARS AND THE NEW STRAIGHT JACKETS ARE MY FAVORITE SO FAR.
techo Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 I have the half jacket. They were smaller than I expected. The polarized are nice for seeing in the water. They are also very durable and comfortable. The first cold day of fishing....I had them in my jacket pocket and leaned up against the boat. I heard a pop and discovered one lens and ear had popped off. When I got home I took a closer look and saw that they popped right back in. It would have been the death of any other sunglasses I have owned. I couldn't tell you if they are the best sunglasses out there, but I like mine. Tim Carpenter
skeeter Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Finally saved up to have my eyesight fixed via Lasik last year ( best thing I've ever done for myself ) and the Lasik Company was running a special where they gave you a set of "high-performance" sunglasses as an incentive. I was dubious about the "high-performance" claim but sent in the form for the "freebie" and forgot about them. When they arrived they were a wraparound style "Tommy Bahama" polarized sunglass with a light green color to the mirrored lens. They have become my all-time favorites as they are dark enough for bright days and lightly tinted enough for cloudy days, they fit my melon well and give good eye protection from the wind while running the boat down the lake at the ridiculous speed we Basser's like to travel at. Talking about them with an eye Doc at local Pearle vision during annual checkup and he said that mirrored and polarized lenses were the best choice for wearing on the water. Also have a pair of red Oakley polarized radars and they are great for sunny days but too dark to wear on cloudy days with loss of contrast.
