Members deerhunter30 Posted November 13, 2008 Members Posted November 13, 2008 I would appreciate all the input that anybody has on this subject. My family and I are very soon going to setup for gigging. Which is better to use, propane lights, or a generator to run the lights? Could you give pros and cons for each, or at least why you think one is better than the other. Thanks.
bclift65706 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 the olny advantage of propane is no noise.other than that theay are not as bright as electric and changing mantels all the time sucks too. I have a set of 400 w multi vapors for sale these are bright and light up the water and everything else. I bought two power inverters and my lghhts will run 2 hours on three deep cycle bateries.
bclift65706 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I have everything you need except a generator and gigs if you go with electric. I would take $250 for everything. will include the box that runs the lights the bulbs ,rail for the boat, and reflecting shield. I have pics of the lights and box in the buy sell and trade on this forum.
MoCarp Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 THE reason to gig on an ozark stream is tradition, should only make it legal with a wood torch gas lights, a generator is a poachers tool IMHO many many small mouth bass streams have been hurt by gigging bass MONKEYS? what monkeys?
bclift65706 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 go ahead call me a poacher I will use my generator and big electric lights everytime I go.most likely cause of gigging hurting small mouth streames is useing a tourch not being able to properly identify the fish. Jacob McIntosh 1
