Stopped at Crane on the way back from Roaring River. Picked up a Subway and went to the park to eat. Still raining but did get out and shoot some video of the creek there. Then drove east of town to the Wire Road Access and hiked in.

I was impressed with the size of the creek. I thought it was going to be alot smaller. I caught my first McCloud rainbow on a red san juan worm. Thought they'd take a worm because of the rain. Caught 2 more in the same run and caught another on a elk hair caddis alittle further down. I saw a trout rising in a pool and he took the caddis. Didn't have alot of time but it was fun. Hope the video helps those who hasn't seen the creek before. Would like to film more another time.

I've already had comments on not able to view the videos. I took me 3 hours to figure our how to post these last night and make them work. They are quicktime videos. I'm struggling with new software with my new mac converting files from one format to another to make them either flash or windows, like the others. I'll work on it today and see if I can convert them to other formats and post them- it will be later today---- hopefully.

Boy are you lucky. I almost went to Crane myself but didn't. I stopped off at Capp's instead. I fish for about 3 hours and got soaked to the bone and decided to head back to the house.

I was in SWMO on business yesterday, stopped through Crane and checked out the creek in the park and the lower WR CA, flowing nicely. I wish I could have stayed but had to get back home....at least I got to walk around and take a look, ran out of daylight anyway

I saw one fish holding just above the bridge in the park, (the highway bridge).

Phil-

Whatever format you used in the first post worked good on my MacBook. I tried the 2nd one with the other format and it was slower. My wife is the techy when it comes to this type stuff I will ask her what the trick is.

Nice video, makes me want to head down there and give it a try.

Thanks

Pat

Great video. That's a nice looking creek. Gonna have to fish that one.

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

Formats- flash produces a larger file so it may be slower. It was for me too and I have pretty fast connection speed. Not sure what else to do with it. I usually have people I ask about these things but this time I figured it out for myself- that what took so long. Probably spent 6 hours just on the videos. Most of the extra time is due to changing to a mac and mac software.\ but once I get it down it should work much smoother. I do LOVE iMovie.

I've fished Crane creek twice in the last year and it has humbled me. I've yet to catch a trout. The first time was in the spring when the creek was still at flood stage - so that maybe doesn't count. But I fished a few hours last Sunday and I only saw one trout. Not giving up though. I'm determined to catch one of those McCloud bows one of these days.

Anyway I'm impressed you took several your first time Phil.
