Flysmallie Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Two turkeys, one in an oil less fryer and one smoked. Both are fresh and will be brined with special mixes. How in the hell does an oil less fryer work? I saw my first one a couple of weeks ago and was really confused. I don't get to do any cooking this year. Traditional turkey and ham at the in-laws on Thursday and a fish fry at my parents on Friday. Might smoke a fatty or two for the yearly Saturday night run away from the families poker tournament.
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 It uses infrared heat and it does come out like an oil fried. There is a screen lid that you use to crisp the skin like a fried turkey. You remove the lid when you like the skin and finish cooking without it. I did about 3 turkeys in a fryer, loved every one of them, but not enough to go through all the trouble. I anyone is interested, do a search for the Big Esay, its by Char Broil, and watch the video. It does work. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Man is that good. I also add some cumbled bacon and toss it on the somker for a couple of hours or so when the turkey is gettin near done. Chief Grey Bear Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Hey you can do the same with peas too. 3 cans peas or greenbeans drained 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup 2 strips bacon crumbled (I also add about a Tbs of bacon drippings) salt and pepper to taste When using greenbeans you may also add wild rice and French's fried onions. Though I do like the Walmart Great Value brand better. warm in the oven or put on smoker for 2-3 hours depending on amount of smoke for taste.
