tippet7 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Started out below #2 around 9. Not too much action, caught a couple on a wine midge. Fished the water between #2 and the rebar for awhile with a fish here and there. Caught one on a red soft hackle at the top of the rebar run. Once in the rebar hole, it was LIGHTS OUT. Nothing too big, 18 incher was the biggest and the hits varied between subtle and a locomotive. Fish were caught on olive w/b, peach jig, ginger jig, brown and black jig and a couple on a white jig. Ended up with over 50 fish. Bad thing was, I did not see one fish that went over 25 inchs But, it beat working, and the day was perfect! Get out there and fish You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.

That's real good advice. Lately, to many people have been sitting around worrying about, will the water be down, don't fish too close to that boat dock, what flies should I use 10 years from now, when is the lake going to turn over, and so on. I'm glad you got out there and had a good time. It's all about fishing the moment and the current conditions, and not stressing about what is going to happen on the creek 3 weeks from now. I fished last night for about 5 hours. The stars were bright, the temps were good, and I caught some fish. How can you beat a deal like that? You enjoyed a great day, and I enjoyed a great evening of fishing. I would recommend that kind of theropy to anyone. Good fishing to you Tippet7.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 26, 2008 Root Admin Posted November 26, 2008 See any browns at all? Any bows on or making reds?
Members 5wtXP Posted November 27, 2008 Members Posted November 27, 2008 Today. From big hole to below boat launch island. Saw a couple of redds along gravel bar below rocking chair. But, alas, no browns 5wtXP
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 27, 2008 Root Admin Posted November 27, 2008 Someone "reported" this and it came to me. It's a good report so I didn't want it to go to waste. 11/26 Wednesday. Finally a chance to fish on my day off. Not much wind and a pretty good current line from below big hole to the island below the boat launch. In fact below the launch pool area as it tails out but is still pretty deep I caught my best fish a nice male bow with kype at just under 18". I started from the south side park lot and went up to just below big hole. Lots of small fish on midges, but I couldn't figure them out today. I tried black zebras, wd-40, soft hackle and emergers....0. My bad. Then I walked below the dudes and guides and boats and started slowly stripping a #14 lt. olive scud with no indicator and had 3-4 OK fish, but I tired of that and said to myself, 'let's fish deep' below the rocking chair. The first fly I used was a bead-chain eye clouser and caught several and one that kept the fly. That was when I started fishing the #10 bead-chain eye olive leach yarn leach with twisted fibres tail. Let it sink and slowly, but firmly strip retrieve. Quit at 2:30 Mark
