Don Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 I fished Taney below the dam today for the second time since last winter. I left my vest sitting on the grass not far from the pavillion as I rode away in my friend's car a little after 4PM. We drove back to Taney with hope anticipation and arrived after dark - no vest. This baby was loaded, estimated $1000.00 retail full of goods. My friends know I carry everything I have with me when I go. Please, if any body knows any information, respond to this post or leave a message at 417-732-2924. Thanks.....Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Danoinark Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 So sorry to hear about that Don. Some vests are like losing an old friend. I hope someone has simply picked it up and intends to try to get it back to you. Keep us updated. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
patfish Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Don! Oh brother! I feel for you. Hopefully this keeps getting bumped so you can get your goods back.

You need to call Anglers & Archers, plus River Run. They hear about gear being lost and especially found. I'll call Darrly and get the word out to him, so he can ask around. If any of the locals found it , he will know. If I hear anything, I'll give you a PM. Laker67
laker67 Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Hey Don, My wife just reminded me of an incident similiar a few years back. Turns out the missing equipment was turned in at the hatchery. Good luck.
TroutBum4wt Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I was down at the dam today, too. I walked through the pavillion this afternoon and I saw a loaded vest with a wading stick. A second vest was laying close to it. They were both on the cement slad on the east side of the tables. Two or three guys were busy with loading gear near the pavillion. I wish I could have been more help. Good luck. "Where There Are Trout, There's Hope" - John Gierach
NoLuck Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Dang it Don, If it makes you feel any better, you can use my handle for this site. I took off and forgot my vest once at home and made it to Sullivan MO and turned around to go get it. I thought that was a bad feeling. I can't even imagine how you must feel. I sure hope someone honest finds it for you and sends it your way. Better luck to you my friend, Rich
NoLuck Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Hey Don, You may also want to post your lost vest in the Taney threads. I'm not sure everyone looks this far down on the list here. Rich
Don Posted December 14, 2008 Author Posted December 14, 2008 I retrieved the vest and everything in it from the hatchery. They said a fisherman turned it in. Much thanks to him, a good samaratin. I was bumming about the loss until I thought of those with far greater losses such as health, jobs, homes, and loved ones. My situation seemed like nothing by then. A humbling experience leads me to count my blessings. Don May Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Danoinark Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Great news Don, another testament to the fishing community. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
