duckydoty Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 For all of you out there that have Coast Guard Liscenses....Dont forget you have to get your TWIC cards soon. You must pre-enroll over the internet, then set an appointment to show proof of identity. If you have undergone a background check through merchant mariners licensing in the resent past, make sure you bring a copy of that to get the reduced rate for enrollment. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 10, 2008 Root Admin Posted December 10, 2008 Yea- we need to caravan up there- a bunch of us- and save some gas money. Make a day of it. Hit the little Italy eatery and head home.
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted December 20, 2008 Fishing Buddy Posted December 20, 2008 Lilley, plan on two trips.. Just got mine done.. Went to Castoosa Ok it was alittle closer than St. Louis.. First trip was to enroll and pay fees, just take your Guide Lisense and a Photo ID of some sort, takes about 15 mins. Then the second trip was to turn it on, takes about 10 mins. Easy and alot of driving... By the way the Castoosa or Port of Tulsa you do not have to have an appointment, you may have to wait in line, but they will get to you.. Both times I went I was in and out in 10 mins.. We had 5 go this last time and split the gas.. Also that reduced rate was not worth it.. It all depends on when your license is up, for me it was not worth it.. I would have had to return in a year to do it all over again all to save 20 bucks. So I paid the full price and will not have to go back until 2013.. Don Capt. duckydoty Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 My license was new and it saved me 27 dollars so that made it worth it. Mine will be good till 2013 also. The one in Granite City was a little harder to find due to none of the roads up there being marked. I can say it is in a red brick building right off of Hwy 3 at the last light going south through Granite City. The building does look like a standard government building. That might help a little. I would recommend the appointment scheduling if going to the Stl area for this though. Alot of transportation workes up there. duckydoty A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! duckydoty Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 I just got notification that my TWIC card will be ready for pickup in a week. They said when I applied for the card that it would take 2-3 weeks but it is really running about 5 weeks. The closer we get to the season starting, the longer it will take to process your card.
