We are staying a resort several miles up from Bull Shoals Dam. We are going to rent a boat with a ten horse motor, no fish finder. Is there any way, with this somewhat primitive boat, and no fish finder, that you can catch the trout stocked in Bull Shoals this far down. We'll be going in Mid-June. I know I've read there are some in this part of the lake.

In the olden days, people used to catch trout at night, under lights, right out in front of Bull Shoals Dam in May and June. The dam area was famous for it. Someone here might know if that is still popular.

Thanks for the help. I read in the Arkansas trout fishing manual they stock 30,000 per year in the lower lake each March. Don't know how long they make it after stocking though.

In the spring of 2006, we caught a few really nice Rainbow's while trolling deep for walleyes. The bow's went back into the lake. If memory serves me, we had a couple that went about 24 inches and some smaller ones. These fish were hanging in the deep tree's in the Fool Creek area. Month of May.

Good luck ! Hope this helps.
