Members GotaFish
Great to hear that the Crappie are starting to bite. I am leaving from St. Louis for the lake tomorrow night with my 8 and 12 year old daughters and would really appreciate any specific information you could provide to help me catch a few of those crappie. I see me, because my daugheters don't need any advice they are pretty good, but I can use all of the help I can get. Were you fishing from the bank near Powersite or is their now enough water to get a boat up from River Run? Also, is anybody catching whites or Walleye between Beaver Creek and Powersite? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Leonard
The water is still to shallow for a boat.. I was fishing the rocks on the other side of river run.. and I was using a swimmimng grub.. but in a day or 2.. Im going down with the fly rod and some wollies and try again.. http://www.taneycomonights.com

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 22, 2006 Root Admin Share Posted March 22, 2006 I know where he's fishing... On the Forsyth side close to the dam there are a bunch of big rocks. Now when the water is up, there's crappie all around these rocks- just to the side of the big rock pile. We always do well in this area. I know the water is down- I haven't been over there to see where it is compared to the rocks, but the crappie are going to be in that area or the closest water to there. Sorry Leonard... may be that's not your spot... but it's a good one. I'd try a jig and float, too.
Members Skeeter Jr.
Did you see of any sign of walleye up by the dam?
Leonard
No walleyes... But a buffet of fish.. Crappie, blue gill and trout... Lilly... yes that was the spot.. But they moved around a lot.. It seemed after catching one or to in one spot.. you had to move about 50 yds one way or the other just to find them again http://www.taneycomonights.com
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 23, 2006 Root Admin Share Posted March 23, 2006 Hummm... I was just up there and there wasn't any water where I thought they'd be. See my fishing report.
