duckydoty Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Fished for the 4th time this year with DD'sMC, her daughter, and Michael Kyle from Backcountry Outfitters last night. We started fishing about 10 p.m. and the water had not quite dropped all the way out yet. Went down to the point to start. We had bites on just about every cast but they were hitting short. Very few good hook ups. Had a small storm come through and then the temps started to drop like a rock. Of course DD'sMC out fished me again! We were using mainly slumpbusters and tried all colors. The fish sure did like the tails of them. We left Michael Kyle down there around 1:00 a.m. and he figured out the color they wanted. Red did it for him. duckydoty A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.
Micheal Kyle Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Or thats at least what I told you To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
tippet7 Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I fished Saturday night as well. I got in about 11pm fished just below #1. Caught a couple on a brown pine sql bugger thingy I tyed up last week. Moved down about 50 yards or so and started hooking up a lot more. Changed over to a cream colored bunny and landed 6. Best fish was an absolutly beautiful 18 inch bow. Great colors. I will post a picture of that one later. I left the water around 145 with a total of 13 fish landed and a couple more long distance releases. You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.
Terry Beeson Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Or thats at least what I told you Hey Duane... Did Michael mention a surplus of red pine squirrel at the shop by chance? Micheal Kyle Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I actually have 2 in the shop right now. That was what I was using with a black body. I will take a pic of one and post it. To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Flysmallie Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I actually have 2 in the shop right now. That was what I was using with a black body. I will take a pic of one and post it. Red? I don't have any red ones yet. My wife is going to kill me if I buy anymore stuff. But I really like red.
vanven Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Not trying to hijack the thread but while we are on the topic of Michael's flies... Michael, I fished with your dad and he gave me a couple of flies he called an Ace of Spades. One in black and one in purple. They looked like a common sculpin pattern but I havent been able to find them again. I always seem to pass through Springfield at odd hours, do you have them in the shop? Duane recognized them last time I ran into him. The black one was on its last leg. -Jerod
Micheal Kyle Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Yep my dad and I have fished those down there forever, I would have to say right at 15 years. What I am saying is that I can get you some. To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Terry Beeson Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Dang, Jerod... you must be special... He never has done anything like that for me or Duane or Ronnie... huh, guys? You fished with Stubby? God bless you..... Did you get to say anything that night? My experience has been if Olive ain't workin' on Taney, switch to sumpin' red and you'll soon have your line twitchin'...
