Donna,

I guess I missed you, but you may have seen me. I was the guy in uniform at the National Guard booth right by the front door. I wanted to put a face and name together, but maybe I can meet you on the water. I'll be in a Ranger 520VX with a 225 opti. I hope to see you on the water.

Ditto. I forgot to look for you. I was sitting at the Central Pro-Am Association booth most of the day with a blue Lowrance visor. However, I did see you, but I didn't realize who it was and since I forgot to look for you ...

Sorry about that. Champ188 was the great big guy 6'4' in the lowkey Champion shirt with no hat. He hung out by the Hook Line and Sinker booth and CPAA most of the day.

What color is your Ranger? We run a Champion 188 white with silver, red and black trim with a 200 Opti. It's Mike McClelland's '04 boat without the wrap, of course. We won't be fishing Table Rock exclusively since Champ and I are both competing in Central Pro-Am and BFL Ozark division this year, but we'll be there quite a bit. Between the two circruits, they go to Table Rock 3 times. Plus, we always fish the Champion boat owners tournament in the Fall.

Hope we get to meet you.

Tight lines.

You won't believe it, but I went out yesterday (Sunday). Yeah it was cold, but I had a new (to me) boat, and a new graph, Humminbird 997, That I was itching to take out. I caught this fish within the first 5 casts, of the first spot I tried. Talk about building confidence in your equipment!!! I tried to take measurements the best way I had and the best I can figure this is a 8 lb class fish. She was caught in the Roaring River Arm. In case you are wondering I bought a 2004 Ranger 520 VX, 225 Opti. My ranger bump board is nearly 18.5 inches long and you can see she is several inches longer. By the piece of rope I tried to mark with her measurements about 23 inches long, and 19 or 20 inches around (not real sure about the girth as I was trying to hurry with the measurements). My scale was in my old boat and I won't make that mistake again... She was released and swam away.

sorry 'bout the pics but they were with my phone...and I had to prop it in the butt seat and use the timer to get the first picture..

Great fish. All the better you were able to get him in the dead of winter, which is by far the hardest time to get bass.

Very nice fish! Got me thinking back about 35 years to my best, at 7 1/2. Still the intramural fishing record at Western Illinois!!!! The sad part was that I decided to have it mounted, assuming, and rightfully so as of this writing, that I wouldn't get anything bigger. The only local guy in the phone book took my $$ and returned the WORST looking mount you will ever see. Broke my heart, for sure. Funny thing is that I still have it collecting dust on a shelf in the basement.

That bass, and a 14 1/2 walleye are my braggers. Don't think I'll touch the walleye again, but still hopes every time out for topping the bass.

Haven't posted in a while as I'm still in Chicago, but I'll start bugging you all again before a spring trip to check on our property down there. Happy New Year to all, and know that your posts keep me thinking happy thoughts during a terrible winter up here.
