brittsnbirds Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 jd- They are all there. However my hand and fingers stung like heck. My trigger finger was all black with the exception of where the trigger made contact. You are so right, if it had been a poly frame unit I would probably be on a medical retirement. Pat
edwin Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I love my Kimber .45 Pro Elite, it's a sweet piece for sure. I had a P220 that I recently replaced with a Sig P226 for my CCW. To echo the other comments, Sig makes a fantastic product. "Advantages are taken, not handed out"
Members zuki Posted January 12, 2009 Members Posted January 12, 2009 I like my Springfield armory xd much better then the glocks.THe glocks are not as accurate as the xds.The glocks are indestructible, i have a xd9 (9mm) that has had over 10 thousand rounds shoot through it and still shoots just like the day it was bought. Springfield armory stand behind there guns 100% not sure about glocks. http://www.springfield-armory.com/xd.php

jdmidwest Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 How much do used Glocks typically go for? Used X-police turn ins can be found in the $300 range, regular used in good shape $400-$450 depending on model. Used guns are scarce now. Every one is in buy mode, not trade mode. jdmidwest Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Guess it is kinda old fashioned but I like my colt 45 service auto. Nice weight and doesnt buck. I love a good 1911 and had always disliked the Black Auto's, no style, no class, no customization. Last trip to Alaska, the friend I went with is a lefty and I wanted to supply a firearm for him also to carry when we fished apart. It would have been hard for him to sweep the safety on my 1911, so I bought my first Glock 21. Simply pull the trigger and it goes bang, short learning curve, and surprisingly it hit where it is pointed. Then came the M&P full size and the compact and my 1911 has not seen daylight for a few years. I have owned and shot many 1911's. They can be finicky with ammo, they can jam, stovepipe, and get loose and sloppy. The dreaded Black Autos are fairly consistant, shoot anything you feed them in reason, and shoot the same way every time. I am still looking for a good deal on a Para Ordinance or a Colt Combat Commander. I have seen a few 38 supers coming around again and might have to latch on to one. bigredbirdfan Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 As an update for those of you who care. I want the Sig P220 and found one at the gun show here in springfield saturday. I actually found one that a friend's dad owned and he happens to have accumulated 4 of them. I just could part with $550 right now. My commercial property tennant gets behind each year and won't catch up until March. Gives me something to look forward to. I know this is off my origianl subject, but has anyone seen or know anything about these .223 rifles made in Fayette MO. They convert to a .22 in about 30 seconds and I think I want one of them. Tactical or assult rifles you choose, but I want one and at $1,000 I will also be buying one in March. Any suggestions for the members on this type of weapon would be appreciated.
TroutBum4wt Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I was at the gun show in Springfield on Saturday, too, and everybody and their grandma was there, buying, selling, trading and looking at guns. I think I saw those Fayette, Mo guns and they looked really good. We're they located toward the very back of the room? With the gun and ammo frenzy going on, the gun show prices were too high for me. I assume you are talking about CMMG from Fayette. They set up at our shows from time to time and have some pretty good stuff. They used to have a trash barrel full of AR's for $550 each, I doubt if you see that now. They put together some good rifles and I have not heard of any complaints. Most AR's convert from .223 to .22LR by changing out the bolt and using a different magazine. Or you can purchase a seperate upper for the 22LR that will be more accurate.
