Members flyfishingtaz Posted January 24, 2009 Members Posted January 24, 2009 Being that I live up in columbia,mo it takes me about 4-5hrs to get to tanney. So I was wondering what the best times to go fishing would be. I know that the generation has alot to do with the best times, but not sure how to read the tables. One option I have is that I'm a truck driver who gets around the area quite abit, just unsure where I can park a 70' rig anywhere close. too many fish...not enough time to catch em all.
duckydoty Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 There are 2 numbers you can call that I have programed into my phone. One is current generation. 417-336-5086. That number tells you current lake level, generation, and tail water level for Table Rock Lake and Beaver lake. You can count on that one being accurate. The other number is pedicted generation schedules. The number is 918-595-6779. You have to request Table Rock and then Todays, Tomorrows, or The Next Days schedule. This is just a prediction and if it is even available still not accurate, but it can give you a guess as to what is going to happen. As far as the best times to go fishing.....When it is raining, and when it is not. Colder weather creates the need for more electricity therefore increasing the chances of generation so milder days i would think increase the chances for the water being shut off. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Members mo_bowhunter Posted January 24, 2009 Members Posted January 24, 2009 I have been searching for a post that I found in a search a couple weeks ago. It talked about the different months of the year and how the fishing was during those months at Taney. I cannot seem to find the post anymore - if I remember correctly October/Novemeber were pretty good as well as end of January/February - those were the best months to fish Taney. Does that make sense? Is anyone familar with that monthly fishing type report - or maybe it was on Lilley's Landing website? I just found the location for the article I was referring to - it was in the ozarkanglers articles portion of the website, here is a link if anyone is interested. Very good info. http://ozarkanglers.com/index.php?option=c...5&Itemid=48 Thanks.

Duckydoty - thanks for the numbers, those will be very helpful and I will be saving those numbers in my mobile phone as well.
twosets Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9269 Here is the item on times to fish. I think that Phil has contended that right now is the best time to fish. "This is not Nam. This is bowling. There are rules."
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 26, 2009 Root Admin Posted January 26, 2009 Tailwaters- there's no guaranteed as far as generation. There are ways to get an idea- weather forecast, history, lake levels- but you just never know. Best time- honestly- anytime you can get away. No time like the present. 70-foot rig - you can park it along the road heading into the hatchery area and walk to the water. I would not attempt to pull it into the parking lots.
Members flyfishingtaz Posted January 27, 2009 Author Members Posted January 27, 2009 thanks for the tips. I've only been there once, and that was back in oct. So I'm pretty sure where ur talking about parking the truck. with this winter weather the company I work for isnt sending us down that way(babies), and being me an my g.f. just moved into our new place finally, I probably wont get a chance to get down there now till around spring time now. maybe I can sneak down there this weekend. too many fish...not enough time to catch em all.
soggyfeet Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Just pull that rig down and back it into outlet 2. If they are running water you can stand on top Brian
