Today was the last day of duck season in Missouri so Michael Kyle, Eric and I tried to get one last cast and blast in till next season. We saw lots of ducks but only got 2 in close enough to shoot. Despite the cold temps, the fishing was good. Green soft hackles stripped real fast up by the boat ramp produced well all the way down past KOA. In the back slough there by Point Royal the green soft hackles tore them up but they had to be fished real slow. Just a strip and let it sit. Had to watch the line for the kinks to start to straighten out in order to tell if a fish was taking the fly. Caught about 10 fish in 30 minutes back there. Lots of ice problems but overall a great day on the water.

Great Blind Idea! Pretend to be fishing and blast them as they fly by. We had a pretty slow year up here in the Middle Zone. Ducks early, gone by Mid Dec. due to freeze out.
