denjac Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Went out this morning from 7 - noon. Didnt get bit until 10:00. When I did hit them I took 6 smallmouth off of a bank on the first pass. Went through them again and took 3 more plus a big ole spot. Didnt have a short fish, biggest smallie was around 3 1/2 pounds. They were hitting a small white grub on a 1/4 oz jig head. threw warts and bigger jigs at em they didnt want that just the grub and it had to be slow. Oh its still cool at there and windy. Supposed to be warmer Wed, hope so will be back after them. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. Bill Babler Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Great Report Denny. Glad to see they are on that grub. We thru that grub till it melted ie, er, I mean froze last week and could find no takers. Kind of like everywhere else on the lake, if you find a spot that is holding fish, you better fish it and stay on it, cause they for sure are not everywhere yet. We heard rumors, of one of the local guides having a 21 fish, 11 keeper day, in much the same area of the lake. I know he fished it last week and like the rest of us, Sunk it up pretty bad. Different day today, hope it continues to build. Thanks http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
