ozark trout fisher Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 After my experiences on a few other forums, wow. It is has become abundantly clear the Ozark Anglers Forum is really well managed. With a few exceptions, I've noticed that most other forums on the web either aren't moderated enougn (read: fill up with spam). Or are moderated way too much (I was just chewed out by a moderator of another forum for asking a question about a thirty foot wide trout stream.) I think that OA has the perfect balance. Forums like this are few and far between, and those of us in the Ozarks of Missouri and Arkansas are lucky to have it, an we have Phil Lilley and the other moderaters to thank for it. Enough said.
Chief Grey Bear Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I think you are right on! I want to set the record straight with you on something. I think you got the idea, from a post of mine, that I am against bait fishing for trout. I am not totally against it. I am not opposed to it being used in Zone 1 at RR. Or other trout parks. Now I am against it in other areas or trout streams. But I say knock yourself out in Z1. On the flip side, I don't think fly rods should be used in Z1 at RR. Boy, I know I am going to get beat up on this, but it is what I believe. Buzz and I have had many discussions on this and we just have to agree to disagree. But we understand and respect each others point of view. Even though, he is wrong. Compliments to you and the moderators...this is my most used site bar none. These are the ones I am a member of, but I use Ozark Anglers more often than all of these combined... There are a few more, (including the one I was complaining about in the first post) that just aren't worth naming, so I won't. http://www.shomeoutdoors.com/forums/index.php http://rockymtnfly.com/forums/index.php?act=idx http://westernslopeanglers.com/forum/index.php http://forums.riversmallies.com/forums/
techo Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 http://www.ultimatebass.com/bass-fishing-forum/index.php is a great forum, but not to area specific. http://www.probass.net/ has a bass chat feature that gets kind of fun,but difficult to moderate. I am a moderator on a Bass N Cops forum, but you have to be a member to get in. This is by far the friendliest and best moderated forum. Tim Carpenter
