Whack'emGood Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 i told her i wish the sun would come out. About that time it did. And boy did they turn on. The sun came out on Table Rock yesterday? We didn't see it all day but maybe 10 minutes worth. You must have been just in the right spot... or maybe we were in just the wrong spot... Way to go. Whack'em "Success builds confidence, and you have to learn to trust your instincts and forget about fishing the way a tournament is supposed to be won. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
Members ChipperT Posted March 10, 2009 Members Posted March 10, 2009 A little belated, but a buddy and I fished last Thursday around the Bridgeport area. Between the two of us we caught 50+ LM and KY with 11-12 keepers (biggest one going about 3.5lbs.) Water temps were 47-48 degrees and caught most of em on the ole' wart, but got some on a jig as well. Probably would caught more, but we fished for whites for a bit up in Canes. Decided to head back down Sunday afternoon for a few hours and go for some whites with an old neighbor. Ended up catching about 20-25, but most were extra small Dinks. Did catch a 2 nice sows and a few decent males in the channel suspended.

I know things will change when I come down there next month, but I still would like to try to learn the names of the different parts of the lake. Where abouts is the Bridgeport area and the Canes?

Canes Hollow is about 4-5 miles upstream in the james river side where the river makes a horseshoe. You can see it by going to weather.com and zooming in on the satellite view. Next month the whites should be in the Galena area. FYI

Staying on Little Aunt's Creek, We can never decide which way to go. We use to go north most of the time, but the past few years we seem to go toward's Baxter or indian Point. Last year the water was so high and dirty, we went towards the dam more. We are getting a lot of rain up here in Michigan, how are things going down on the Rock? Sounds like the fishing could be pretty good for the tournaments this weekend.
