laker67 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Thanks guys! She was a monster (as my son kept saying). I was truly torn about keeping her. I look at it like this...she was raised and fed by the park to be released so someone would catch her as a trophy. If not by me, then by someone else. It was very exciting! I could not have done it without the help of my "net boy". Thanks duckydoty!!! No need to justify, or qualify, your decision to keep the fish. It is your priviledge to possess or not to possess. It is an unwritten law that you will probably keep the first big fish that you catch. I kept the first 5 before I started releasing. As far as "net boy", I'm sure Beeson will have a field day with that. Congrats once again for the fine catch, and congrats to the net boy, I'm postive that he was more nervous than you.

The "net boy" told me he strongly considered jumping in to wrestle her out! So glad he didn't have to!! We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.

Terry Beeson Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Nice pheesh, MC.... Yep, a fish of a lifetime. Now about that net boy.... "Oh, Netboy... where's my coffee?" "Hey Netboy... tie on a different fly for me... NOW!!" "Hey Netboy... You know what'll happen if you don't get that big fish in the net? TIGHT LINES, YA'LL "There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process." - Paul O’Neil

DaddyO Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 WOW!! Nice fish, MC. When the fish are that big, fishing becomes a Team Sport. Congrats to you on the catch with a nice assist to Net Boy!! DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
