NoLuck
Hey Folks, I have been to Bennett a couple of times this year already and noticed a lack of fish compared to the the 2 previous years. I was just wondering if you all noticed the same thing. BrittsnBirds and I have both seen the same thing. The water was a little cloudy the first time there but, this time it was clear enough to see that there wasn't that many fish. I fished and did OK when I noticed others not catching fish at all. They are not laying on the bottom either cause I can see the botttom in most places. Cya, Rich
McManus
If there's doubt in your mind about fish. Walk the trail from the Hatchery to the Spring. You can really see down into the water from the trail. "Many go fishing all their lives without knowing it is not fish they are after." fishinwrench
Any lack of fish you notice now is temporary I'm sure. The hatchery is probably just recovering from the heavy opening day stocking. Actually I prefer a few less fish in the stream than is typical, it is kind of rediculis when there are balls of trout EVERYWHERE and they flock at your feet. Even my young daughter gets bored when the fish are overly plentiful, and all the same size.

When I used to fish in zone one last year I could make out fish suspending in most of the usual places. This year there are no where near the amount of fish there. I still caught fish but people around me were struggling to even catch a couple in hours of fishing. You can almost always figure out what the fish want if you pay attention to what you are doing. If you think that is bad, check out one of our wild trout creeks. You won't see many fish at all. The parks are ok for when you want to catch numbers of fish, but you don't get the diversity of sizes that you would anywhere else. Andy

Take a stroll through the hatchery and see what they got while you're there. Also look to see if the stock truck is dripping or has a wet spot under it. Members tgard27
I was there not more than a week ago and didn't notice too small of a number of fish. I've seen more fish at bennet, but I saw a ton of bows when we were in zone 1 by the handicap ramps. I have never really been a trout park fan because the large quantity of fish seems to take something away from the experience and the only time that I go is when my friend wants to get out on the stream. I'm not trying to rip trout parks by any means; they are fun and can lead to some interesting days on the water. But I have always had a curiosity as to what Bennet would be like if they stopped the trout park theme and tried to turn it into a wild stream. I don't even know if rainbows could reproduce in that stream, but I've always thought that would be cool as hell if they could. Travis.
