NoLuck Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 No luck i would have to agree with you. The family and I camped last Thur-Sun and I did not see as many fish as I usually do. We caught fish and had a great time, but I didn't see as many. My guess is the weather last year and the fishing pressure this year are the cause. I only fished in zone 1 and a little in zone 2. Mike, That's all I have been asking. Thanks for an honest reply. I have fun regardless if I catch fish too. It is just more fun to catch fish. It will get better I have no doubt, but it will be a long wait. Next year it should get better for size and quantity. Hey..Do you drive a gold or beige GMC or Chevy pick-up with an Ozark Angler sticker in your back window?? If so I saw you at Bennett and I passed you on my way home when you were pulling a camper of about 24ft long. I was driving a white Ford Ranger extended cab pick-up with tinted windows and a Sage flyrods sticker on my back window. Next time I see ya I'll make sure I say hey. Rich
Fly_Guy Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Here's my dilemma - I need to catch some food for sister-in-law's bday tomorrow - she says she wants trout fried my way! I know I can quickly catch 4 at RR, but RR gets a little old - crowds, and 'dogfood' fed fish (not bashing trout parks OF COURSE - hehe). I'd rather go to Taney, but with the rain the generation will be crazy tomorrow - and when the waters up with no boat, catching fish is not a gaurentee (at least not fish within the slot limit on the trophy area), and not off the docks with heavy generation. So I log on to Ozarkanglers, and decide to head up to Bennett for food and change of pace (not wilderness fishing experience), and I hear that there aren't many fish stocked! Egad - is nothing sacred anymore? Guess I'll call Taney tomorrow and see how the water is running - though it's put and take, the typical taney trout is a tad more wild (and better tasting) than a fresh park stocker. again, not bashing trout parks!
