Bman Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 My son Matt and me got down to M.S.P. about noon, and found the parking lots pretty full. We were throwing the long rods so we looked for places to fit in. Water was pretty cloudy. The average size of fish were smaller and fewer in numbers, some pods of pretty small fish, skip a small crackleback though them for fun. Caught my best with ice shrimp. and a roo bug. Matt was using ice shrimp and WD-40's. Nice weather, an enjoyable day to be fishin. Heres a couple. The only good line is a tight line
Members DoctaJ Posted March 23, 2009 Members Posted March 23, 2009 nice day to be fishing for sure. I was down last week, only one. It has been slow everytime I go down. Steve said a bunch were stacked on the right side of the river, just out side of the park; that was about 2 weeks ago. Nice fish, thanks for the update.
patfish Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Thanks for the report Bman. Glad you guys got into some. You really should try and get out more.
TroutRinger Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 I was down yesterday as well and fished from 8 to noon. I caught about 15 on trout worms (all different colors throughout the day). Two of the fish were around 2#'s but not much else worth writing home about. It was still a great day. "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy." "There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot."

We were there at some point, we went around the whole park at least 1-2 laps. On the move looking for a spot to fish, and looking for lunkers. We would stop, stick one or two and move on. A tough day. The only good line is a tight line

flyfishmaster Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Ohmz138, I'm happy to hear you and your father are able to get out and fish the streams, together. My dad started taking my brother and I down to MSSP back in the mid 70s. He would take us at least 8 -10 times a year (that was a long drive for us back in those days). I enjoyed every trip. He was the first person I have even seen to hook and land over 70 trout in less than a day. Guess what he used... crickets! These days my dad is not able to get around as he did 30+ years ago. But I still do hold on to those memories. Thank you DAD!!! Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
